Day 7: PONG Mafia XXXVIII
« on: October 21, 2009, 08:45:25 AM »
The morning of Day 7, three things were clear:

First, The townies had gotten it right yet again.  As DAaaMan64 was being escorted from Pong Town, he became angry.  The more angry he became, the more translucent he became.  Before long, he was almost invisible.  Clearly, he was "Elusive Lucy" the Clear Paddle.  The townies had found 3 members of the evil PONG mafia, but there was still one more left, and he was angry.

Second, "Ol Dirty" Brown Paddle was brooding alone in his empty mafia castle when he finally lost it.  He had lost everything, his friends, his comrades.  It was time to strike back.  Unfortunately for Mop_It_Up, she was the first one he saw on his path of destruction, so she'd have to do.  Mop_It_Up, an innocent townie, was found dead the next morning, lying in a pool of her own pixels.

Finally, Nickmitch died in his sleep at 5:44 AM.  No cause was found.  He will long be remembered as an innocent townie.

Results from Day 6:
Death by Vote: DAaaMan64 (mafia - "Elusive Lucy" The Clear Paddle)
Death by Inactivity: Nickmitch (townie)
Death by Hit: Mop_It_Up (townie)

Damnit Doctor.  I'm a townie - Mop it Up changing her vote from a townie to a mafia member made her an obvious target... You should have saved her (mind you, this is inconsistent with my earlier post saying that the doctor should save me...)

I think Vudu arranged the mafia hit/doctor save.  Vote vudu

I think Vudu arranged the mafia hit/doctor save.  Vote vudu

And just how would I pull that off?  First I'd have to find the doc, then I'd have to convince him to protect me, and then I'd have to work up the nerve to stick a metaphorical gun into my mouth and pull the trigger on the blind faith that the doctor would save my sorry ass.  If I could pull that off I deserve to win.

I've been having the hardest time figuring out who the last mafia member is and I just realized that GP told me on day 4!  This is a PM that she sent me.  The "ally" she refers to is thatguy.  I added the bolding for emphasis.

Well since my "ally" turned out to be mafia I guess I might as well trust someone else. I'm the investigator, and well so far all the people I've investigated have been townies and all but one is dead, NuclearSpeed in the only alive and who knows he could be the godfather. It appears thatguy had his role hidden from me since he came up townie. The only guess I have to why I'm still alive is because I said I was going to investigate Nuclearspeed and he figured it would be harmless. My guess is that I'll be taken out tonight since he no doubt told the other mafia members who I was.

thatguy knew that NuclearSpeed was going to be investigated.  thatguy could have easily told Daaaman to use his powers so NuclearSpeed would come up as a townie when investigated.  That's why he's flown under my radar for so long--I thought he was a townie because GP investigated him and it seemed unlikely that Daaaman would go 2 for 2 protecting his teammates.  I completely overlooked the fact that thatguy knew NuclearSpeed was going to be investigated.

It was staring me in the face the entire time!

My bad!  I told you that GP investigated NuclearSpeed and that he came up a townie!  I said I didn't know for sure whether thatguy knew NuclearSpeed was investigated--or even what order they were investigated--because she didn't specifically tell me.  But it's implied here enough that I think we found our last mafia member.

i didn't know until monday morning that GP was the investigator, I trusted her on sunday when she revealed to everyone during the day, and went with a vote that would give us time to know for sure who people were, since the doctor should have been on the ball and protected her that night. This is even the first that I knew I was investigated, and look I was proven to be a townie, if Daaaman used his power on me I would have come up mafia.

vote decoymabn might be my only hope

Think we got it, guys?

I hope so.  As I mentioned before, I was struggling to figure out who the last mafia member was.  Everyone was a "confirmed townie" as far as I was concerned.  I've received so many PMs this game--over 80--that I started to search through them this morning to see if I could figure out any leads.  That's when I stumbled on the clue that GP left me.  ;D

Vudu's bluffing.  He conveniently has come up with some magical evidence right when he came under fire. The mafia probably killed GP because they couldn't manipulate the investigation.  Yeah, they got lucky with thatguy, but after that, they must've been clueless, otherwise GP would have lasted longer.  Look at who was hit the same night I was investigated: Plugabugz, the green paddle.  Who's a higher threat, the one who made sure thatguy couldn't tie or the one who they thought they could manipulate?  If they'd set up the investigation on you, then wouldn't they keep her around for the manipulation, and not just the one day?
