I had no idea that the dead could be so talkative.

If I were the bomber, I'd select a townie as my apprentice, simply because that seems the only realistic way that the townies can win (and I'm not even sure if that's very realistic). Then again, I am a little biased.

Anyone care to explain the Blanca factor in regards to the game as it stands? She can kill anyone and take his or her role, so what kind of allegiances / alliances, if any, would she most likely be interested in?

Well since Blanca has become Mafia the Coon Mafia has to win for Blanca to win. Blanca is officially Coon # 2 or 3 which ever one Blanca killed.

A noble effort, but that's pretty hard to do on purpose. The bomber has to choose his apprentice before the game begins, which means he has to pick before he has even a hint of who's who.

Considering Blanca killed a Coon, it looks like she wanted to be mafia. Then again, the game is based on deception, so it's really hard to tell who's who. Maybe Blanca just picked somebody and that person just so happened to be mafia. Impossible to say at this point. However, given the limited number of townies left, if Blanca was on the townie side then it'd be best to keep your powers under wraps--killing a townie to take his place is only hurting your own team.

Well she killed a coon Mafia member and as such she is now a member of that Mafia. I assume that the rest of the Coon mafia would be informed of their new member and BlancaCoon would win with the Coons.

That's an interesting detail to the role. So, if the bomber picked badly and his apprentice dies before he does, he's screwed, right?

Correct. Ideally you want to kill the bomber's apprentice before you kill the bomber. Then again, the first time this came up in mafia 8 (or whatever number it was) there was no apprentice. It was a pretend role meant to make people uneasy even after the bomber died. Who knows if it's still the same in this game?

Correct. Just make sure you don't give away any confidential information. If you're mafia you can't give away your teammates. BFS can't tell us who he investigated when he was alive. When in doubt, keep your mouth shut until the game is over out of respect for those still playing.

Yeah, mine would have some doodle of an elephant wearing slippers or something.

vudu: No worries about me letting classified info slip. I had to be super quiet during the original XXXI because I got PMs from both godfathers and had to be removed the first day. I've got no info to share now that the game has been rebooted, but I wouldn't share it anyway - just to be safe.

Hey, you're right! I wonder if there's any way to have a Mafia game where to win, the mafia must have some living townies left so that the mafia can actually keep getting money for their black market goods. Would that break the game or make it less interesting?

This is my first dual mafia game, and I'm unsure if I like it better than single mafia. It's certainly more complex, but I'm not sure I prefer it.
