Title: Ni no Kuni Dated for Japan

Level-5’s new role-playing game will be in stores before the year closes.

 Level-5 has quickly become one of the Nintendo DS’s biggest supporters, with titles such as Inazuma Eleven and Professor Layton already performing well on the system. Come this December, Level-5 may have yet another Nintendo DS success story on their hands with Ni no Kuni.    

Set to be released in Japan on December 9 for ¥6,800, Ni no Kuni is a role-playing game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. While it was a Nintendo DS exclusive for quite some time, the game is now heading to the PlayStation 3 as well next year with some additional features and an obvious visual upgrade.    

Ni no Kuni has not been announced for a North American release.

Despite my lack of proficiency in Japanese, this is probably a game I will import on the DS if it never makes it to the West.

I wonder what similarities/differences the games will share.  The respective trailers for both versions are incredible.  Level-5 and Studio Ghibli are a match made in Heaven.

I'm really looking forward to the PS3 version of that game (if it comes over to the US), provided Level 5 has finally learned how to make an above-average JRPG.  That game probably has the most convincing use of Cel Shading I've ever seen.

Yes, it's like 350 pages or something.

If these come to the states there is no way I'm playing the DS version when that PS3 version is so amazing looking and they are supposedly the same story.
