I suppose I should get the ball rolling on the next mafia game. I know I've penciled it in as my RPG tropes theme but I'm still internally debating if I want to go through with that. I think it will depend on the number of sign-ups. Otherwise, I think I might run with the Dick Tracy theme I floated a few games ago. That could be generalized into a whole Newspaper Comic Strip theme to allow roleplaying from as far back as Krazy Kat to our time with strips like Pearls Before Swine. Therefore, I might as well see how many people are ready to play the next game by creating a sign-up thread.


For this game, I am going to re-implement the Majority Vote style of play in which the day period could last up to 48 hours or end sooner with a majority vote. It seemed to work well and allow for almost maximum participation with the players nor did it seem to adversely affect any side in the game. Plus, it just fits my schedule for hosting much better these days. 

I would like to start the game on Monday Nov. 14, 2016 EST time and hopefully it can be wrapped up before Thanksgiving hits. That's all the info for now.

True but it is always nice to have you verify. For instance, I'm guessing Nickmitch would probably be playing but he hasn't signed up so now I'm not sure if maybe he is skipping the game or just hasn't seen the sign-up thread yet.

Even with Nickmitch, that puts us at 12 total players. Therefore, I'm going with the Dick Tracy theme. My RPG theme is designed with more roles and powers and would need more players with every player having HP points and votes counting as attacks against that HP.

Yes, a couple little quirks. For the most part, this will be a straight up game. One detective, one doctor, and two Mafia members. However, if the mafia is able to eliminate the detective by their hit/night action then the mafia can recruit another player of their choice over to their side. On the other hand, if the detective votes against a mafia member and the mafia member is eliminated from that same day vote, then the detective will gain some extra information which I'll explain in the rules. As for the doctor, nothing special there and no self protection allowed either.
