I was good at making them in the DS game but I am not anymore :(.

I have never actually played Wild World.  Was the the snowman making different, or is it just the change in controls?

Also, did everyone remember to buy turnips today?  I was ticked that last week, when I didn't have any turnips, Nook was buying them for over 500 Bells.  I can just feel it that I'm gonna get shafted this week.

For games it is. Wii is the first time in years that games got a positive spin on GMA, Today Show, and the early show. They got nearly free marketing all over the place.

I completely agree.  For a while there, you couldn't turn on one of the morning shows and not see a segment about the Wii, or old people playing Wii in nursing homes, or people using Wii as rehabilitation exercises.  I don't ever remember that much extensive coverage of any of the other consoles from any generation.   The only negative stuff about the Wii at that time was the amount of new televisions the remotes were breaking.

Does anyone know if any of the stuff that you may already have registered gets counted?  I would hate to have my years of dedicated number/letter entry be lost.

So what's the secret to making good snowmen. Do you get anything for it?

As long as the head is about 2/3 the size of the base, it should make a "good" snowman.  It takes  a little practice to get a good eye for the right size for the head, but once you get it down, you can usually make a perfect one each day.

And for some reason, I have a real fondness for that stupid snowman furniture.  I think it was the only complete set I ever actually collected in the original game.

Since I got my Wii back and have completely started a new town, I've just been trying to get my first loan paid off and accomplishing some of the littler things around Adatopia.  BUT, when I asked Nook what prices were on Turnips (even though I haven't had a chance to buy any) he said 570 bells!

So, I've added everyone in AC: City Folk Friend Code thread and if you'd like to come and sell any turnips you may have at my town, I'll have my gates open sometime around 1:00pm (Eastern time) today and probably later tonight sometime - each for a couple of hours.  I figure I might as well let someone enjoy the fact that Nook is buying them at an high price.

Here's my updated friend code stuff.

I had fun. I had forgotten how enjoyable this game can be.

Why don't we just make fridays the official NWR SSBB night or something?

I completely agree!  I hadn't really played SSBB in so long that I didn't remember how frantic and exciting playing it really is.  I'm very glad I was able to take part in the WiFi Night.

I also wouldn't mind having a dedicated NWR SSBB night.  Maybe eventually leading up to a tournament of some sort?

Why are we kidding ourselves? Wii Sports is only as popular as it is because it is bundled. Do you think as many people would have spent $49, or even $29 on it if it were a separate game? Sure, some people would have, but not the many millions we're seeing now (well, unless they bundled a peripheral with it, ala Wii Play).

I don't know for sure.  When I got my Wii at launch and brought it home over Christmas break to play, demonstrating Wii sports to some of my cousins, aunts, and uncles was the very reason they went out to get one for Christmas that year (or shortly after if they had trouble finding it).  I think 4 or 5 of my family members purchased a Wii because of that.  I really do believe that they would have also bought Wii Sports if it was not included because they were so enthralled with the title (well, maybe except for one of my aunts who only bought a Wii to play Twilight Princess - she's obsessed).

Now, the question is, would I have bought Wii Sports at launch if it wasn't bundled, which in turn persuaded my family to buy Wii's for themselves?  Probably not...

Gah, I'm dying without the game.  Having to send you Wii into Nintendo for repairs merely a week after you purchase Animal Crossing is some kind of weird torture.  Not only am I paranoid that they're not going to be able to keep my saved game data intact, but also that even if they do, something will be messed up on Animal Crossing forcing me to start over.

Not to mention all the weeds I'm going to have to pull!

Phew, I'm SSBB'ed out for the night.  Great fun everyone!  Maxi, our second to last Pit/Lucas fight was intense.  I was shaking after it finished I was so nervous, haha.

Despite the slight lag in most of the games, I had a lot of fun tonight.  Some of you guys are really good.  I'm pretty sure UPBear and I had some pretty ridiculous character match ups when we were playing each other.  I loved the black and white Ganondorf vs. Bowser match, haha.

Gah!  I'll be playing but unfortunately not on my own Wii.  I had to send that stupid thing in to Nintendo because the "push A button" on the health and safety screen when it first starts up wouldn't appear leaving my Wii completely frozen.  Awesome.

So, disregard the Smash Bros. code in my signature.  The one I'll use for tomorrow is: 0946 - 2336 - 0511.

And I'm adding everyone on this page as soon as I'm done typing...

I just got the game last night too.  I had the Gamecube one but for some reason never jumped on board the DS game.  I'm already thrilled with this one though.

I really enjoyed the demo!  Even though the dialogue was a little long winded, it was at least funny and entertaining.  The ninja consultant, I thought, was great.  I'm a sucker for random, obscure humor though.

I'm just curious to know what in the heck has kept it from actually seeing the light of day.  When was the last time we even saw anything on this game?  I'm hoping that with all of this time, they've been able to create one awesome Kirby game.

I also recieved the "IMPORTANT: If you do not want to accept this upgrade..." message as well.  It was the first time I had ever seen it and it made me nervous, but being up for an adventure I did it anyway.  Hopefully I never see it again.

Are you implying that Matt was in on this to get people all up in arms over the "anti-hype" for MP3 only for Nintendo to turn around and say "Ha!  Gotcha!"?  It is kind of strange that IGN has yet to report on the MP3 preview...

Well, in light of the Corruption Preview download on the Wii today, does that mean we get to rub it in Matt's face and post comments on his blog calling him a liar?

Personally, I think this is an awesome step in the right direction for Nintendo.  This is the closest thing they've done yet to downloadable demos, so hopefully it will eventually lead to that.

There are two types of yellow Chu's.  One is just a regular yellow chu that is used for lanturn oil.  The other is called a "Rare Chu" and gives you "Rare Chu Jelly" and works exactly like Fairy Tears as ZeldaWarlord stated.  These "Rare Chu's" seem to be the same color as yellow chu's, but with a nice sparkly shine to them

The one is quite helpful in the Cave of Ordeals, especially if you've used some type of healing item already and are looking for a new one.  The Rare Chu in the CoO falls in the center of the other Chu's in the second group of them.  You can see a sparkle on the ceiling if you stand on the ledge before you drop down to fight them.

With Nintendo's past though, it will probably get turned into the tres kiddieee image.  I can see it now:  PS3 garnes MASSIVE DAMAGE and VIOLENCE for the HARDCORE g@merz while the Wii treats people to waving their arms around like they just one Deal or No Deal.

My friends and I talked with an employee that we are somewhat friends with from the Best Buy in East Hanover yesterday afternoon and he said that they already have nearly 100 units and are expecting another 100 units or so before Sunday's launch.  I find that a bit hard to believe, but he doesn't seem like the type of person that would lie about something like that.  If it's true, which we are going to try and find out later today, we are going there.

A couple of friends and I will be at either the Best Buy, Circuit City, or TRU on Route 10 in NJ.  It doesn't seem like any place around us is having a midnight launch...which really makes me sad.

I've only read the IGN review and it did seem balanced (minus the voice acting, which I could care less about).  I was suprised that they didn't touch on the Wii-mote's speaker.  I hope that means it was used effectively and that it's audio quality isn't as bad as it has been previously announced.  Did any of the other site's reviews mention it?

Does anyone know what Sony's "refresh" rate on new shipments to Japan is even going to be?  And how often do these shipments make it to the various stores for restocking?
