Nintendo Gaming / SP early at Walmart?
« on: March 22, 2003, 09:33:11 AM »
Yesterday evening, I was at Wal*Mart (in Lodi, California) and there it was, sitting on the shelf for $99.77. I asked the guy who works there to get me one from the display case. He scanned it, and the register said to scan the serial code (the one on the back of the unit that is visible through the "window" in the back of the box) and it wouldn't take it. He tryed to scan it three times, and even entered it in by hand, and it still wouldn't take it. He told me that he couldn't sell it to me. I was thinking  "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" He then called someone over to electronics. When she got there a few minutes later, she put her key into the register and entered something into the keyboard. He tried to scan it again, and it finally took it. I thought " Oh, thank God." He told me that I was the first person to buy one. I tell you this so that if you're in the same predicament, be patient.

Nintendo Gaming / Meadal of Honor: Rising Sun discussion

I'm hoping that is has online multiplayer, that would be nice. I'm glad that the MOH series is going to the Pacific theatre. I've been wondering what kind of Japanese guns will be in the game, because the Germans had much better guns than the Japanese. I hope that there will be a lot fewer solo missions than in Frontline, because most of the stuff in Frontline would never have happened in real life. I also think that the multiplayer needs bots and several different modes of play; that's what was sorely lacking from the multiplayer in Frontline. Getting back to guns, I think that the Tommy needs a thirty round magazine instead of twenty. All the Tommys from WWII on t.v. have thirty round magazines. Also, I think they might introduce the M1 carbine, and maybe even the sub-machine gun nicknamed the "grease gun." Maybe even a flamethrower. The U.S. used a lot more flamethrowers in the Pacific than they did in Europe, so it might just actually be in the game.

Post our thoughts, please.

P.S., read my sig.

Nintendo Gaming / Meadal of Honor: Rising Sun discussion

I've been looking through all these topics, and I've noticed that no one is discussing Meadal of Honor: Rising Sun. It might be a bit too early to talk about it, since it doesn't come out until this fall, but I still think it is worth talking about. I think it's interesting that it is going to have a co-op mode, and I'm hoping it has a better four person multiplayer mode. Frontline was the best fps I've played since GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, and I think that Rising Sun will be even better. Post your thoughts.

Now that I think about it, it probably is a bad idea.

I think that next season there might be something involving chemical or biologcal weapons, but until then I'll just sit back and watch the rest of this season unfold. The next new episode comes on in one hour and six minutes, PST. I wonder what will happen with that rogue military group standing between Jack and the bomb. I hope there is another shootout, like after the plane crash. That would be tight.

I think there should be a special category just for people to say anything they want about any console or video game. It might get ugly, but it sure would be fun.
