Did anyone receive an invite that can't go? And could I have it? I can make it to the one DC and would love to go.

*AHEM*

I suddenly can't go next week, so let me know if you still need tickets.

PM sent

Dude, shut up, Khush. Shut your dirty mouth. Don't jinx this. I've waited for a new Zelda for six years. I need this.

55
I know we've all said it, but seriously. They'd sell Switches faster than brazilian tit jobs if they set up a Netflix-like service. $15-20/month for unlimited access to games that are retroactively fit to play online/LAN and Switches sell more than the PS4 and XBONE combined.

Quote
– On Shrines: having them all be long/complex means players wouldn’t complete the game
– Nintendo made Shrines to be rewards rather than actual trials
– Shrines are very different from those of previous Zelda, though some are much larger and have a boss at the end similar to traditional dungeons
– Nintendo has done away with dungeons that have a particular theme
– Even if you come across a shrine located in a forest, it won’t necessarily carry that theme

That sounds particularly interesting. I can't wait for this game.

Wait...what?! Nintendo already confirmed dungeons in their Game Awards play through. Also, not to get spoiler-y, but there are very good reasons to think that there are at least four dungeons. I honestly think there will be more.

^Nice

I'm on board the Switch train now. I don't think I'll buy it at launch though. I still think it's a better idea for me to buy a Wii U, Zelda, and scoop up all the games I missed for the system. But I really do think the Switch will be a success.

Despite Nintendo's fumbles (much of which can be fixed after launch), the Switch provides a set of very unique use cases that simply cannot happen on any other console. And because of those cases, it will gather a lot of attention.

64
Soren, you'll probably find a vast majority of those simply by exploring.

Miyamoto, I think you're underestimating the Switch's potential to attract attention and instantly provide fun. The ability to play two players anywhere is an incredible idea. Because...

Kids may have cell phones these days, but can you imagine a couple buddies playing MarioKart in the cafeteria? You could easily see other kids fighting over who's next because everyone wants to play. And soon enough, it'll be on everyone's wish list.

66
The benefits to this are that you can voice chat when you don't have a wifi connection. But that means you're also (probably) not playing online.

It's pretty dumb.

67
This leads me to believe that developers see the Switch as a 3DS successor, which makes me believe that so does Nintendo, which will likely release Pokemon for the console - instantly making the Switch a success.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Forum Snap Poll: How Sold Are You on the Switch?
« on: January 17, 2017, 01:00:46 AM »
It really is the price that is pissing everyone off. Pack-in a game (literally any game) and drop the price of accessories, and this all goes away.

But really, I think we all need to take a breath (nice) and actually hold the system. Remember the Gamecube and how stupid that looked? It's still my favorite console. What about the Wii? It sold more than any other console that generation. I mean for fucks sake. We finally have a system that actually looks good and includes all the controls we want out of the box AND its portable. I really think the cost, the lack of power, Nintendo's consistent fumblings, and lack of games will seem trivial when we hold the system and realize we can play HD Nintendo games anywhere.

At least I hope so.

69
and also a confirmation that I am not the target audience in any way whatsoever.

This and I dont know who is. I dont expect 1-2-Switch to sell very well.

It's supposedly a $20 game.
But really, they should just bundle the game in, preloaded from the eshop.

That's the only way people will try it.

70
Who else picked SnipperClippers? It looks like great game to play with your girl.

The more I think about the Switch, the less I like its chances. It's an underpowered, expensive console with no games (at least not many). They need to fix two of those three issues and it really doesn't matter which ones, but they all can be fixed with more time. So...what the **** is the rush? Why release it right now?

They really need to reevaluate the price and announce more games before launch or the first six months of this console could sink it. They also need to provide VC games as a subscription.

73
It's either that or I'll wait for the eventual hack that allows me to play all the games for free.

74
Online looks awful. I never thought Nintendo were straight-up greedy until now. An online subscription that doesn't provide VC games at no extra cost is a huge middle finger to fans. This is the third generation of the VC program and you expect people who have been with you all the way to pay for the very same games again AFTER paying for a subscription? This is a dick move and I really hope none of you subscribe until Nintendo changes their ways. Just like how Xenoblade was going to be a Japanese exclusive and is now one of their biggest games worldwide, we need to band together and bitch like we've never bitched before.

75
I also really hope they provide the Japanese dub. It suits the game much better.
