GET OUT

Most cathartic movie I've ever seen. The ending...man. I've never felt such pleasure watching a movie than after seeing Pops get a rib full of antlers. That's not to say it's a perfect movie. After he had substantial proof that his girl was in on it, he still asked her for the keys and made no precautions to leaving the house safely. I would have immediately been the most pleasant person around, asking my girl if we could stay longer because I was enjoying myself so much, all the while planning my escape. Best character by far was the NSA. He was my voice. That was a very smart character addition.

Overall, an incredibly fun movie. It's unnerving, intelligent, and over-the-top. 9/10

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has been leaked. I wonder if this will effect sales.

He still feels like mafia.

Also, props to the doc.

Everyone should take heed at my skill at voting for mafia on my first vote three times in a row. This is a forth.

Fair enough. You've convinced me that it's not a killer-app.

However, it's the most fun co-op game I've played since Portal.

This game will tell you more about a person in five minutes than a three hour conversation.

Arrival

It's really hard to have a satisfying ending to a thriller, especially a sci-fi thriller, and Arrival wasn't up to the task. The premise is rock-solid, the acting was thoroughly enjoyable, and the tension was palpable. The resolution was my only gripe and not because it didn't make sense, but because it was dumb from a story standpoint. You have this anxiety building up, fears are mounting, and then the climax is shown to be resolved before it is actually resolved. Who thought that was a good idea? It's a really stupid decision that deflates the last 20 minutes entirely. It's a cool idea but it doesn't work narratively, or at least wasn't directed well enough to keep the suspense intact. That's really my only problem with the film.

It's pretty cool how they filmed at two main locations almost entirely.

It's still a decent movie and anyone who is a fan of sci-fi will be engaged throughout the first two acts.

I defeated my first (immobile) Guardian. It took about 45 minutes and many, many bombs. It wasn't worth it.

Try deflecting their blast next time.

Aonuma unboxing video. This has to be, without a doubt, the best Nintendo release of all time. With all the complaining that's gone on the last 15 years, I hope people praise their efforts so that they do more of this stuff in the future.

"Link's looking over his shoulder, almost like he's calling out to us."

Dude. Agreed.

I only voted once and it's for the Godfather.

I really like the ingenuity involved to even think about making a game like 1-2 Switch. Like, "What if we don't look at the screen at all?" It's that type of idea that turns your entire thought process on its head, and I respect that.

That said, making a fun, interactive game where you don't look at the screen sounds like an incredible challenge as well; a challenge that isn't necessary to show off the system. So they could have taken the low hanging fruit and developed pretty much any other type of game and probably would have generated more interest. And that's the problem. It's hard to understand as a concept and thus looks only mildly interesting.

This is completely just to stay alive. However, I don't think I should continue participating in this game as I have a busy week coming up. So if the townies want to kill me off now in order to mitigate my chances of fucking something up later, I'm cool with it.

The right JoyCon is the one with the pointer functionality on it.
But what is it pointing at? I thought there was no sensor bar. I guess I missed something about how it works.

It also points out the bottom, meaning you'd have to flip it in order to point it at the screen. But that means you have no access to the triggers.

-The emphasis on environmental noise instead of music tracks

I thought about this one as well. I think they went with a more subdued overworld theme because of how large the world is. It might get annoying hearing the same theme over and over again. But yeah, still totally excited.

Ebay prices are creeping up for guaranteed switch pre-orders as well.

We're less than a month away from a game that is getting GOAT buzz; I think it's important to bring down our collectrive hype to moderate levels. So let's list off some things we noticed that we're not excited about.
