Viewing it today at 6. I am a little nervous of how reviews are coming out, so hoping that is just noise from the haters leaking through.

Captain Marvel was fantastic. Great movie, great intro scene, great post credits scenes.

Good trailers are the metaphorical 'cherry on top' of a wonderful cinema experience.

We had Shazam, Far From Home and Endgame trailers in front of my showing. It was a perfect choice to show to really build the anticipation of the movie. Admittedly I was hoping we'd see a Detective Pikachu trailer as well but it wasn't to be.

Asian director, Asian writer, Majority if not almost all Asian actors, and mostly filmed in China, expected to be heavily rooted and inspired by Chinese culture and history.

Yeah, not going to happen. There is a strong current of racism of sorts where when they watch Hollywood movies they don't want to see themselves "Represented", they want to see white people. It's why Great wall randomly had Matt Damon as a token. It's fucked up.

Like us they don't want stupid pandering **** like that scene in Iron Man 2 surgery scene. Although these days with the level of nationalism this might not be as much of a shared sentiment.

The idiot pandering is why Independence Day Insurgence needed up how it did. The Chinese girl(Couldn't act and as about as important as a mannequin) inserted just for the Chinese market and production company. The Knock on effect from this was the time wasted and elimination of other nationalities you would expect a united Earth would have. It has quite a few other issues but it was an easy problem to get rid of with other pointless sub plots as well as under baked.

I watched it.... I didn't need to, but I'm not disappointed that I did.

Feige (or someone at Marvel) did say that the trailers will only be cut from items in the first 20/30min of the (3hr?) movie, so no real spoilers to be had.

although i think we just got a glimpse of Kate Bishop in training.
another potential mantle passing for a future Young Avengers or maybe a Disney+ MCU extended series.

anyone know when tickets go on sale?
I need to secure those seats ASAP

edit: there was one tiny minor spoiler, not that we didn't know it would happen, just not that it happens in the first 20/30 minutes of the movie
that Tony and Nebula make it back to Planut Earf. They could've spider-man'd them and removed them from that scene in the trailer like Civil War

We actually don't even know if that's real, or under what context. Did they get there via time travel? Is there still a version of Tony and Nebula out in space? So many questions...but god damn that was beautiful.

I'm pleased that half the trailer was flashbacks. The less of this movie that is shown before release the better. I'm also hoping that the majority of the 'new' scenes shown were fake.

I heard his contract was pay or play so Disney was paying him either way. I wonder if getting fired meant Disney had to rehire him or just adhere to the original contract.
