Title: January 2020 is Meme Avatar Month
Post by: Khushrenada on January 02, 2020, 10:54:47 AM
Remember those old avatar theme months we used to do? Maybe not since it's been so long since we've tried to do them. But hey, let's see if we can resurrect the idea to do once in awhile.

With the Funhouse forum currently embracing stale jokes, why not spread that attitude through the rest of the forums with dank internet memes?  :P  ;D  Choose a meme that you might love or hate and stick it in the face of other users.

For myself, I'm going with that confused cat at table. Now, it is paired best with Diaz yelling in its directions as illustrated so maybe someone else will want to take on that half.  ;)

Likewise, you may want to post here with your choice and an example or the source of it. Of course, with a Mafia game happening later this month, some avatars may change away from this theme but not everyone here joins in on those. Plus, there's no rule that a person can't swap avatars during the month. Whether you swap out for Mafia and then come back to this or swap out for multiple memes during the month, it is up to the community creativity to decide how one may wish to embrace (or reject) this theme.

None pizza left beef is so vintage it predates Super Mario Galaxy.

Can you set .gifs as your avatar here? Otherwise I should've gone for the Harlem Shake.

You can have gifs for an avatar but you have to link it from another source. Also, you probably need to make sure it already fits the 100 x 100 avatar rule before you link it. Might be hard to format that particular image to such a requirement but I'll admit that I did consider a Harlem Shake idea as well. For some reason, I really enjoyed that brief stupidity. Maybe it comes from when the beat finally drops after the build-up.

Since I've been too lazy to change my avatar I'll argue this is a Skyrim meme of some sort.

Is it okay to have a meme from any year as our avatar?   Because MLP:FIM started as a meme back in 2010.

Do you consider your avatar as a meme or joke? Do you see other avatars of MLP as someone doing a take on a meme or as a legitimate promotion of their fandom? Sure, those lines can be blurred but I think you can usually tell the difference when an image is meant to be serious or, we'll say, "ironic".

Like, with your current avatar, I can't recall seeing that picture being used in any kind of meme format such as...

...or...

(For the record, I was really tempted to go with Doge but I did something with it awhile ago and didn't want to repeat.)

In any case,

it is up to the community creativity to decide how one may wish to embrace (or reject) this theme.

so I guess I can't really say what counts or doesn't count.  :-X

The one I was using before no but this one that I am using is a meme in the MLP:FIM fandom.   Also I didn't notice but it is punny too seeing as it is winter.

I mean, I kind of feel like Princess Daisy is a meme. However, I went with The Child (AKA “Baby Yoda” for you plebs/heathens) drinking soup from The Mandalorian. I will be changing it once Capcom stops putzing around and releases some better screenshots of R3make Jill.

Khush finally has a great idea!  I miss these theme months; they made us feel like a real community.

And with that, I'm going with the O.G.

I'd participate, but I'm too lazy to resave my avatar to a new image account, as the current one I believe was on tinypic before that shutdown.

I'd have to think of a good meme to switch to before i even make the effort. LOL

edit: maybe I'd avatarize the spongebob one. LOL

Actually, I have a feeling that I'm the one currently hosting your avatar, BlackNMild2k1. During Khushrenada Week when I swapped a lot of people and their identities, I uploaded a good chunk of the avatars for this forum to do that and then used those links when restoring the abilities. If you haven't changed your avatar since then it is coming from me. I control the horizontal! I control the vertical! Muh-ha-ha-ha!

Changing my avatar to something meme worthy and Code Veronica X for hosting duties.  Those playing the game can follow my lead and go with something in the RE series overall if you like.

When I saw Khushrenada posted a pic of a cat using an N64 controller, that seemed good enough for me. Now, what would be a good title...

I don't get it. What am I missing with BShy's suggestion?

Well it is kinda punny with a cats paws and handful in one word and then adding a bit of gaming at the end. I also didn't notice right away when I made my suggestion but that is a N64 controller and Mop it up has quite the collection of N64 games so it all fits her so well.
