I recall that they changed the English voice actor somewhere during Freeza. The first VA was good, the second one stank unbelievably.

Well, dammit, how could I forget that.

There has to be English voices for the American public, that's common knowledge. Either that or no voices at all. Listening to Japanese is conceived as weird and foreign by the majority. It's possible that they'll add both language options depending on the total file sizes of the voice clips, but I won't count on it. Has there ever been a Nintendo published game that had actual Japanese voices (not the grunts and yells from for example Ocarina of Time I mean)?

Get the pitchforks, light those torches and grease the chainsaws, it's time to form an angry mob and storm the executive offices of Capcom. Put up your angry face. BLAYEARGH

Star Fox: Assault was developed by Namco. If Nintendo wasn't so busy with its other prestigious projects, I think they would have done a far better job at giving us a satisfying rail-shooting experience. I mean, what gives, Namco? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MAP?

And I have a bad feeling about Advance Wars: Under Fire. Why must you lend IP's to everyone? Metroid came out all right, but not everything will turn into magic.

Wow, you have the same score in Melon as me?

I'll probably get beaten eventually, those scores mean nothing compared to your Pineapple. Congrats!

Yeah, I don't think I can wait until Fall. The lack of patience creates a problem from the depths of hell though. Blasted Kanji!

Jesus, some people think high of themselves. I know where my limits are and my chances would be very slim against these guys. Pros can consistently spike, which takes a lot of practice of course. I frankly cannot spike consistently.

I haven't beaten Metroid Prime 2 yet and I'm in the middle of Baten Kaitos right now. Also, I've pre-ordered Fire Emblem and it should arrive next week. Some people just don't have the cash and/or time to spend countless hours of gaming. With recent releases such as Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat which are perfect for short bursts, I couldn't be happier as a GC owner. I'm sure E3 will show something spectacular, like Miyamoto, who hinted that Mario 128 will arrive for the GC. May can't come soon enough!

The only scores that have beaten you guys are:

Apple - 1393
Strawberry - 1790
Peach - 2193
Melon - 1457

I still need to get Platinums on all the kingdoms starting with Durian. I haven't gone back in weeks now, not much incentive. : /

Somewhere October or November. :/

At least I hope it's not near Zelda or during the Christmas craze.

Personally, I think the map doesn't look stylish enough. The in-game visuals however are dropdead gorgeous. Whoever says it looks like a GBA game loses all credibility.

Oh and an excellent review.

Yeah, I don't think Fire Emblem has the same selling value as names such as Resident Evil and Zelda. This is a niché genre outside Japan whether you agree or disagree. It's fantastic that we're getting it, but don't expect this kind of game to do great sales-wise, even if it was released earlier. Then the game wouldn't even be able to take advantage of the Fire Emblem released for the GBA. Yes, Intelligent Systems were quite busy the past year with Paper Mario 2, a new Fire Emblem for the GBA and Wario Ware Touched. And now this and Advance Wars DS. It's a small dev team, but they crank out most excellent games pretty fast. I say give them a break and soil your pants. YES! MY PANTS! IT IS SOILED!

If this was actually longer, my hands wouldn't be able to take the abuse. It's a shame there's no extras though for getting all the Platinums.

Four Swords Adventures wins the top spot easily. Too bad you'll need some GBA's and cables. But hey, everyone should own a GBA by now. It's mad fun and I fully advise you to try it out.

At least he can *gasp* dive underwater again. Look at that water reflection... just beautiful. Here's hoping fishing will make a comeback as a lovely way to pass time.

Well, there's some slowdown for one thing. But I'm not sure if that's got something to do with it. It just felt a bit sloppy, not as polished as the original. If it's indeed a trilogy though, we can expect some good stuff from the 3rd instalment if the Devil May Cry series are any indication.

I could kill for some DMC3 action right now. ;_;

A couple of rants:
- They screwed Viewtiful Joe 2 by developing it for the PS2 in mind and then porting it over to the GCN.
- The RE4 announcement was just bad timing.
- Corporations are evil.
- Some Dante would be nice. ;_;

I can't blame Capcom for everything though. They were financially in a bad situation then and had to take action to please the stockholders. But still, from our point of view, it's bad for the future.

If N5 proves to be something special, developers could get woo'd to Nintendo's side, much like what happened to the DS. The problem is that money talks and company executives are bastards when it comes to this. We shall see.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Star Fox Assault - unlocking Battle City game
« on: March 03, 2005, 02:01:25 PM »
What the? I loved Battle City. I was hoping for some good ol' tankbusting co-op in self-designed levels too.

It's no excuse though. Battle City was developed by Namco, like Xevious. It's a travesty. On the other hand, Namco is (co-)developing Mario Kart GP. I expect a 'Tales of' game for compensation though (I mean fully localized you bastards). Pronto.

Sweet. Thanks Berto. I tried a demo once a while back and I remember the single-player being pretty tough as well. I stumbled upon this mech-like (miniboss?) villian in space with battlecruisers everywhere. And I got served mercilessly. So yeah, high hopes here.

Edit: Heh, it's the same mission I described. And it seems you're better in it. Then again, I was on a showfloor with hundreds of people.
