I did not. After being in the middle team for the demo splatfest, I really wanted to see the difference playing as one of the sides. Kinda disappointed that I didn't give it another try today.

Mine has been ok. My time between matches is usually 90 seconds, which isn't terrible. I've gotten in groups that went on losing streaks and left them before getting paired to a new group. I think the problem usually comes when I'm in a group that doesn't have much synergy in loadout and strategy. Some teams must be using the voice chat app, based on how often I've found myself cornered in a 2-on-1 situation on certain stages.

Celtics Coach Suspended for 1 Year

If anyone hasn't been following, Woj tweeted that Ime Udoka was facing a suspension for some unknown reason. It was later revealed that he had a consensual relationship with a female employee who has not been named. Early reports said his job status was not in jeopardy. He's confirmed to be suspended for one year after the Celtics completed a months-long investigation. He is currently engaged to actress Nia Long.

Ms Marvel ended on a high note. which is good, because I was worried it wasn't gonna stick the landing after that rocky middle.

Episodes 1,2, and 6 were all decently good, and pretty fun.

Kamala is officially a MUTANT and her bangle is apparently a Nega Band, which is "confirmed" by the fact that she swapped places with Captain Marvel, who appeared suddenly in her bedroom.

Show would've been so much better had they just ditched most of clandestine and Noor dimension stuff, and just focused on Kamala being a teen in highschool, with popularity and boy problems, dealing with her powers, in her NJ/Muslim community, and then having to cope with the M word. They could've woven all the India history and other stuff into the story still, but the episodes focusing on it were dull and confusing.

I did a catch-up these past two weekends, and I finished Ms. Marvel. I agree that her background was a little too complicated. She's told her great grand-mother is a Clandestine, so we are left to assume she is too, but it doesn't explain why no one else in her family has powers. I suspect Aisha was never a Clandestine, but got her powers from the bangle. And the mutant gene got passed down to Kamala.

But the show just leaves a few more questions than answers on the origins or her powers. Is Kamala a Clandestine, but the trait is just recessive and not passed down? Is that the same for Kamran? It'd be easier if she's just a mutant and the bangle unlocked the powers somehow.

I would've also preferred a little more slice-of-life. It feels like we got a show about a high school teenager who never goes to school. I might've missed it, but it just seemed like the family up and went to Pakistan on a whim? It just seems like a long, expensive trip to take so suddenly. But the trip was needed so that Kamala could get some kind of explanation on the bangle that her mom was unlikely able to provide.

Overall, it's a good show. I think six episodes weren't nearly enough to cover everything, even with the longer run times. The characters were fun, and my biggest criticism is that there should've been more of it.

I'm also watching She-Hulk. I really like that they're going full legal sitcom with it. She doesn't break the fourth wall as much as I thought based on comments I saw.

I still haven't even played the first one!!!!!!

Same! The reviews put me off a bit, so I'll be waiting to read what people think of the sequel. I really enjoyed Triangle Strategy, so I'm optimistic.

Hey mate, come to think of it, I don't think I have you as a Switch friend for some reason! Would you like to add me?

Just added you from the Switch code thread!

    • Pokémon Stadium Don't think so, but HAL made it so it'd be a choice, not a legal issue.
    • Pokémon Stadium 2 Don't think so, but HAL made it so it'd be a choice, not a legal issue.

The Pokémon Stadium games could be interesting. The big draw of those games was being able to connect the GameBoy games to the console. Though there are things you can do without the connectivity. There's also the possibility of connecting the game with Pokémon Home, which seems like it'd be a lot of work that Game Freak wouldn't want to do.

If they wanted to get really ambitious they could add Game Boy games to the service and let you transfer Pokémon from those to Stadium.[/list]

I could see this as a possibility down the road. I think, for now, the best hope might be that Pokémon flagged as coming from the Gen I games in Home would have the possibility of being put into the game. So, you'd have to get your 3DS copies of the games and put the Pokémon into Bank and then into Home.

Wanted to bring this back up in light of the announcement today. Looks like they're going with no connectivity in Pokémon Stadium, at least for now. Joe Merrick did a thread on why this is more complicated than it looks. Definitely seems like we'll be waiting on GB games on NSO for this feature.

I missed the game last night, but the comments on it confused me. Did the Broncos really have all their timeouts on that final drive? Did they really run the clock down to 20 seconds at the end? What was the point of that? If you miss, the other team will kneel. Why not put your $200M QB to work on getting your kicker a better chance at winning the game?

I understand being new at your job, but that seemed more like incompetence than inexperience.

I wonder if it's been long enough for them to finally release Advance Wars. It could be something easy to slot into late winter.

I didn't like having to repeat the tutorial from the demo, either. It felt very redundant, especially since the game was able to find the Splatoon 2 data. But it was really short, so it wasn't a huge deal.

I also leveled up to get to the new weapons. I really liked that I could get the higher-level weapons early. I was surprised that I could get guns above the level I had in Splatoon 2. I think the gun I ended up getting was a level 21 gun, where I only ever made it to level 20.

The card game was interesting. I tried a few rounds of it and even went into the deck builder. The deck building seemed like it could have more complexity than I'm willing to handle, but it's a cute little distraction. I weirdly had a hard time finding it in the town square. I couldn't get to it in the menu for whatever reason. But I guess that gave me a chance to walk around.

The new stages are really good. I was talking to a friend about how much we both enjoy them. Not sure I have a favorite just yet, but they feel like they fit right in while still feeling new and exciting.

    2) I hated the "either or" for motion controls. Either I needed motion off, or I had motion without getting to use the second stick in tandem. I wanted something similar to how Breath of the Wild bow aiming was but it felt the opposite of that. I like using the stick, then motion to fine tune.

I'm pretty sure that's been the norm, at least since Splatoon 2. I'm not a huge fan of it either, but the controls still work well. I just have to play around with the sensitivity more.

Overall, I'm pretty excited to be playing Splatoon again.

Greg mentioned the three-way portion of the Splatfest demo. I wanted to echo those comments. I was Team Scissors who were ahead in the North American section. Playing in the 2-on-1 setting was pretty rough. I lost all but one of those matches. Greg was right in that once the central piece was taken one time, it was pretty much impossible to catch up. I frequently felt pinned down in my own area because one side could easily head me off in trying to get to the center, while I couldn't pivot the other way lest I run into the other, other team. I think the other players on my team might've been using voice chat because they kept jumping to each other, leaving me alone. The times I tried to join them I either got immediately cooked in the firefight or just lost behind them on the map.

None of that is to say that I hated the experience. It was very novel, but it was also a little frustrating. The leading team really gained nothing by protecting the middle of the stage, but could easily lose the match once it gets taken a single time. And it was exciting to have a different perspective in a turf war, with enemies on either side instead of down the field away from you.

Good stuff from D23. I'm pretty surprised about that Thunderbolts lineup. It seemed like they were going more Dark Avengers-y, but now it feels more mixed.

I think it's already in effect, but I'm not sure. I don't think the Sony announcement came with an as-of date like the Oculus announcement did.

3D World was close for me because of Bowser's Fury. But I wanted to stick to games that had an initial release on Switch. I loved Bowser's Fury and 100%ed it. So, it probably qualified on itsown.

I wonder why they're making this move now. Was the game not generating enough revenue? Or do they just want to expand their audience?

I've seen so many people post images from that episode. I really need to catch up on MCU TV.

This was a great read! I followed the VGC action from Worlds on YouTube (at least what I could). I really want to go to one eventually.

I think Pokémon has a legit shot at being a top esport. I think it's easier to follow than FPSes and fighting games. The mechanics are also pretty easy to get ahold of, especially if the audience has familiarity with the gameplay.

    Bad game names?

That was hilarious. The game slightly rebranded after introducing a new feature, and no one thought through the hashtag. A wound so self-inflicted you have to believe it was intentional, avant-garde marketing.
