Do you think Monster Hunter 4 will have online multiplayer this time around?

29
EDIT: Also, you put more money into a game than what the publisher gave you, and it still turns out crap? Oh boy...

Many multi-million dollar games from big time publishers and developers have come out as crap.  The money could have gone to something else besides gameplay, or they just didn't do a good enough job.

Wasn't there one Yakuza game on the GameCube...?
Nope.  Until this announcement, Sega's Yakuza series had been exclusive to Sony consoles and handhelds.

Maybe you're thinking of Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions, a mission-based driving game that plays similarly to the Runabout game series.  I think it's the only game on Gamecube with "Yakuza" in its title.

Besides iTunes, what reader works best on desktop/laptop PCs?
(I don't use mobile devices.)

I've used Google Reader for a long time for podcast updates.  With it being shut down, what's the best alternative left?

Pulse?

I got Song #2 right away!  It's from one of my favorites on that system!

Song #6...I played the game, but don't remember that song.  Just hearing it makes my throat hurt.

You could change the button map to something that fits your liking.

...or you could listen to some idiot on Amazon. :P

Multiple people are saying this on Amazon about the Y/X button thing.
Plus, many games, like New Super Mario Bros. Wii doesn't let you re-configure buttons.  Does the controller let you, and those reviewers are unaware of it?

36
It looks like something I would have bought years ago for the Wii.  But unfortunately, according to one reviewer, where you'd use the 1 and 2 buttons to run and jump for a game like New Super Mario Bros., you'll have to use the Y and X buttons on this controller.

Here's why I wish for every video game console/game to have a way to reconfigure your controllers freely, including being able to switch analog stick and dpad uses.

But...holy christ, this controller would have been frickin' sweet to have.

37
Yes, you can. If you have a Wii U Pro controller or a Wii Remote you can back out of the menu and back onto Netflix. If you use a Wii Remote you can take the batteries out to shut it off.

Which is fine if you're using Netflix, but not if Nintendo's forcing you to use the damn GamePad for something like New Super Mario Bros. U.

About New Super Mario Bros. U
We're still stuck with Wii remotes for multipayer, thanks to the gyro and waggle controls added to the game.  If only Nintendo had added these features to the more comfortable-looking Pro Controller...

38
Is the GamePad comfortable for 2D fighting games, like Street Fighter?
Is it comfortable to keep your thumbs placed on the D-Pad and a/b/x/y buttons, and still be able to quickly hit all four shoulder buttons without shifting your thumb's positions?

39
A lot of western developers ignored the Wii and DS, and probably didn't work phones and Vita, so it's all new to them.  Until they can get out the the same old routine that that they're used to on Sony/Microsoft consoles and PC, there's not going to be much from most of them...except lots of excuses for the lack of support.

Dear Atlus,

New Trauma Center/Team sequels for Wii U.
HD visuals.
Awesome story and characters.
Groovy music with DAT BASS.

Multiplayer gameplay that combines Wii and DS controls, with one player with the GamePad touch screen and other player with the Wii Remote & Nunchuck.
Single player can play with either controller option.

I've figured it out: the M4A (iTunes) feed had been updated, but not the MP3 one. Should be fixed now!

I see it now!
Thank you so very much, sir!

Nintendo Points and eShop cards - never worry about getting a gamer a gift they've already got!

You're right, plus point cards will be great to give to someone who own a 3DS or Wii U (even after the holidays) and has never gone online with them.  With the point cards, they may want to actually use it, which means looking at the eShop, since they now have a reason to go there.
It's a good way to introduce them to Nintendo's online services, along with 1st and 3rd party offerings that may or may not be available in retail stores.

Virtue's Last Reward
It's very unique, being different than what you normally would see on consoles and handhelds this time of year, AND it's said to be very good by many players and reviewers.  Fans of 999 should look for this game store shelves.  Better yet, it should have already been in your 3DS.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2
FINALLY, a proper Tekken game on a Nintendo home console.  It's every bit as good as the other console versions and more - not downgraded at all.

TalkBack / Re: WWE '13 Review
« on: November 30, 2012, 04:40:54 PM »
A lot of those bugs are also in the Wii version, and it's unfortunate that THQ and Yukes will NOT provide fixes for them.  There will be no patches, because they've purposely left out online support.
Frame rate can get pretty low, the game is glitchy as hell, it freezes from time to time, Signature and Finisher indicators won't show for Gamecube controller users, and sometimes the animation goes too fast (especially springboard and other flying attacks).

The Wii version is also missing every single new feature that's been added to the series since 2009.  This year, there's no create an arena, ring, belt modes.  The Create a Superstar mode is still the very same thing that's been in since the older games (HD consoles have a totally new creation mode), and still no online play.

The graphics are still bad as ever, with games, like WWE Day of Reckoning on the frickin' Gamecube looking far better.  The last PS2 game, Smackdown vs. Raw 2011, had better shadowing and lighting effects that the Wii version ever had.

Running Heavy Attacks and Grapples still won't activate at times, which is something THQ and Yukes have never addressed for Wii.  You will run at your opponent while holding down the attack or grapple button, but your wrestler will sometimes do absolutely nothing.  THQ once mentioned that the timing for Irish Whip rebound grapples was supposed to be fixed this year, but...it's not.  It's still pretty bad.

An 8.5 score is way to generous, especially when there's still a lot of crap that's been purposely left out, and many problems that have been left in, along with glitches that will never be fixed.

The roster, the Attitude era, new animations, and the slightly touched up game play controls, are the only good things going for it, but still, overall, it's an incomplete mess.

It's still a fun game, but only worth buying if you love wrestling games and you haven't bought one in a long time.  But stay far, far away from the Wii version if you own an HD console.

Marketing confusion is already in full force.  Many people who comes in and out of our stores aren't aware that the Wii U exist, and some think that the Wii is just another add on, like the balance board or just another game.

Nintendo is not doing a good enough job.

It'll need to be shown on popular daytime tv talk shows again to get some units moving at a fast pace once the core Nintendo gamers, the early adopters, have already bought their systems..

It seems like asymmetrical is pronounced with the "long a" sound.

++++

The core Nintendo audience have been shrinking generation after generation, thanks to Xbox and Playstation consoles.  The Wii U will have to do something to get those gamers and more development teams and publishers interested, or it'll be just another "Gamecube" to Sony's a Microsoft's next systems, with weaker third party support than PS4 and 720.

++++

I believe that Nintendo's holding back too much too information.  It could be one of the reasons why so many gamers aren't too interested in the Wii U.
Many of us wants to know what popular game franchises are on the way to Wii U after the launch window.  Is it really Nintendo and 3rd party companies holding back information, or is 3rd party support not really all there?
