Four Skylanders pets with adorable names are coming soon.

Four new Skylanders are coming out in July, according to a combination of a trademark, a Frito-Lay sell sheet, and a hacked copy of Skylanders.

The four characters are pet or sidekick versions of four existing Skylanders. In the Frito-Lay sell sheet, they are referred to as Mega Stealth, Super Trigger, Big Grunt, and Mighty Fin. However, players have delved into the game to uncover the names Whisper Elf, Trigger Snappy, Gill Runt, and Terrabite.

According to the Frito-Lay plan, the promotion will begin on June 18 and run until July 13. Apparently the promotion will involve buying bags of Frito-Lay chips and redeeming some sort of proof of purchase to receive Skylanders Sidekicks.

We'll have more details as we get them. As of now, all of the 32 original Skylanders are available in stores (if you can find them). Skylanders Giants, the sequel, launches on Wii and 3DS this fall, adding even more characters.

Is there any new information on this?  I have looked in stores and on frito lays website and they have nothing listed.  Thanks

All I've heard is it's coming in July (July 9?). I haven't heard any more details, though. When we hear more concrete stuff, I'll get a new story up.

I try. They're usually just as out of the loop as we are on these Skylanders things.

This is inspiring me to find a toy PR contact for Skylanders, though...

This is what I do know  ;D . There are many rumors in regards to the Sidekicks. The one thing I heard is that you will be able to get a code for in game play. I also heard that they will be sent in special marked packages. But no one can tell me what is what? The other thing I know is if it is only codes for in game play I am the luckest Person in the world cause I have all 4 in hand  ;D . They are real but don't know if they are protypes that I have but we will soon see =-)
