Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo Fans vs. the Third Parties

for the most part i do ignore third party games, but most dont make anything worth purchasing. the ones that do release a shoddy port 6-12 months later then the other consoles, or dont release it for gamecube at all. the sad part is that the devlopers dont realize why their games dont sell on gamecube. baldurs gate is one title that i was planning to buy, despite how bad i heard the port was. unfortunately i couldnt even find the game anywhere(and now the sequal wont be coming to gamecube at all from the looks of it).  the only third party games i have in my collection are from capcom and sega, both who have put out some great games for gamecube, and my next third party game will be splinter cell. i'm not really prejudice against third party games, just bad games. that, and i can only afford to buy so many games.

personaly, i dont think this is that far fetched. i'll still hold out for an official statement, but its possible. with konami's view of the cube, nintendo probably had to pay to get metal gear in any form on gamecube, why not go the step further and pay to make it exclusive? nintendo seems to be getting serious about the gamecube lately, and this would be one way to prove it. either way, its already been confirmed that metal gear is coming in one way or another, so i'm happy.

its funny, becouse the day after i saw the initial story about dixons, i saw the european multi-format charts and there were three gamecube exclusive titles in the top 20. resident evil 0 was sitting at number 2. i think it was just bad timing on a few merchants parts with their comments, after a period where not many high profile games(if any) were released for gamecube.

You cant really use the sales of ed and re to determine that gamecube has a younger audience. Both re remake and re0 went on to sell a million worldwide, a figure pretty good for a system that has less then 10 million systems out there. In comparison, i have to wonder how well konamis disney sports games have sold, being specifically targeted at the younger crowd. i'm willing to bet that none has sold as well as either ed or re. thq is another developer that was tageting the younger crowd, and we know how that went over. I doubt the age demographics are that different between the 3 systems.

lol. Guess i spoke too soon. I didnt even bother to check out what ign said, i was just making a comment that fit with all of the sports cancellations recently. I can read just fine. Glad i didnt mention any money though.
