7 PSP games in the top 30, that must be a first. And yet, the hardware still sells next to nothing compared to the DSL.
And big new PS2 releases topping the charts shouldn't be surprising whatsoever. It does have the biggest installed userbase of any system there...

Think about this guys. We thought it was cool when the DS led week after week last year with only 30k to 40k sales in those spans, and we thought that was a lot.

The DS Lite has been selling 100k plus EVERY SINGLE WEEK for a long streak and hasn't showed any signs of slowing! That's really really damn good! These are all non-holiday sales too. Nintendo is going to be rolling in pits of cash come the holiday season with this thing on the market.

Yeah, I've got basically everything down pat and ready to start using Opera 9. All preferences set and I've got the look 98% close to what I had with Opera 7, except one thing (the small things annoy me). However I'd need to post a picture to describe it, and that's probably not worth it.

I'm still using Opera 7, because I hated some of the interface changes in 8.

Shoot, though, they're already on 9?

Am I really missing out being 2 versions behind? Opera 7 has basically always worked right and done everything for me, with the occasional page loading error. But the lightning fast backwards and forwards have kept me pleased to this day.

EDIT: Also, can the keyboard shortcuts be changed? I want ctrl+n to still be new tab, not new window, since I almost never ever need a second Opera window open.

Setlist (roughly, may not be in order) from when I saw Megadeth. They played for an hour and a half (as it was a large festival):

Blackmail The Universe
Set The World Afire
Skin O' My Teeth
In My Darkest Hour
Wake Up Dead
Angry Again
She Wolf
Die Dead Enough
Tornado Of Souls
Trust
Sweating Bullets
The Scorpion
Hangar 18
Kick The Chair
Symphony Of Destruction
-----------------
Peace Sells
Holy Wars

Basically, only the absolute best stuff. No ****in' around. Just balls to the wall thrash metal.

Are you people crazy? PSP can't even be near that high with how big the gap in sales there is between it and the DS in Europe and (especially) Japan. Wasn't the worldwide total as of the holidays like 12 million to 6.5 million (DS and PSP respectively)?

I totally mentioned Megadeth earlier! I'm not a big fan but at least a growing one. I've seen them live once and they just totally rocked my face off.
The albums Peace Sells through Countdown to Extinction are all absolute classics, and I really think they made a good comeback with "The System Has Failed"

@EasyCure: I love Power Metal- the genre includes Rhapsody and Dragonforce- but I really really very strongly dislike both of those two bands, for a few different reasons, but mostly they are just way too cheesey for me to handle. Rhapsody is over the top with the operatic singing about dragons and battles and the like, and DF are too, with both of their singers annoying the hell outta me. Don't get me wrong, at least Rhapsody's frontman Fabio is a talented guy, but I really dislike is tone. And DF's singer just sounds like a chipmunk with his balls too tight inside his chainmail armor.
Along those lines, other power metal bands that are just waaay too much for me: Hammerfall, Manowar.
Ironically though, I love Luca Turilli, which is the guitarist from Rhapsody's side project. Specifically their second album. It's still pretty lame in terms of lyrics (lots of warrior stuff) but it has much better use of keyboards, and I like the singer's voice in that band much moreso.

Lovin' it! Metroids of any kind rock.

Mine is... well, Skies of Arcadia fans will know mine! At least, if you've beaten the game.

Heh. I'm a bit better with forum etiquette than in my early days on the 'net (5+ years ago). First forum I ever signed up for, a couple posts in I was swearing at some guy I disagreed with. Almost got booted from there and haven't since felt like stepping out of line anywhere (guilty conscience). That, and I moderate a message board anyways

Yeah I'll be around for the Wii launch, though I won't post too often around those months since I'll be in my first semester of college.

Very funny. Mikael Akerfeldt is probably more man than you AND your father and wouldn't hesitate to beat you for saying that

I prefer metal, the favorites being:
Rage, Metallica, Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Dream Theater, Joe Satriani

other, non-metal favorites (rock most of them):
AC/DC, Guns n Roses, Iron Maiden, Green Day, Buitres, La Trampa, Cuarteto de Nos

(side note, you won't know the last three )

Father my children! (In a completely hetereo-man way, I assure you)

Metallica, Nightwish, SONATA, DT, Satch, Iron Maiden, Green Day. <3

*Ahem* Excuse me. I'm a huge fan of *almost* all things metal. I don't really like Nu-metal or Black Metal, but anything else is good. Progressive Metal (Dream Theater, Tool, Pain of Salvation, Opeth, Fates Warning), Death Metal (though more melo-death), Power Metal (Blind Guardian, Kamelot, Sonata Arctica, Nightwish), Thrash Metal (Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Pantera, Sepultura), classic metal (Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Queensryche) etc...
Ok enough name dropping. Basically, I'm into a lot of things that combine any of the following (usually around a rock sound, that rock/jazz fusion is sweet too): Complexity, memorable/catchy melody (both with the lead instruments and the vocals), intelligent lyrics (depends on the genre), fun/rhythmic/groovy bass and drums, technical complexity, controlled energy (not just "raw loud energy"), and not necessarily "talent" as far as the members go but just the ability for the instruments to compliment each others' sounds and for the band to have at least *something* special or different about them, even if it's only one trait (the singer's tone, the drummer's fills, or the guitarist's solos or lack thereof).
I use a lot of parentheses.

Virgin Megastore here in Chicago has games but not a particularly good selection. Their CD selection isn't even that thrilling anymore, mostly because of the prices on all the good stuff.

So... *cheers on DS*
How long do you think until New Super Mario Bros catches Animal Crossing? It'll probably need a good holiday buying season but it's gonna sell strong all year for sure. I know it'll break 2 million but then again, by that time AC:WW will be above 3 million, which is just sickeningly large for Japan.

Hello there everybody!

Holy crap, I've been lurking for almost 2 years and I finally signed up!

I started visiting this site some time in '04 (I think the fall months) to read the GC/GBA sales data, and have been checking in weekly to check JP hardware/software and the discussion on those, as well as all the other lovely links (French, Australian, UK data etc...), and monthly for NPD (when it gets posted). Tracking the entire DS life so far here has been interesting, to say the least.
Anyways, the reason I lurked was because I tried to sign up (eons ago) but never got a confirmation mail or something like that, and each time I tried to sign up it said "username already taken" (believe me, I can't use another name besides this one), and even when I tried to have it email my address with login info, it never would work.
But I mailed the admin and here I am now, so it's all good.

So yeah, some props to Mario and some of the other posters who I've seen each time I come here, but never been able to interact with! I'm finally in and I'd like to get to know this community.

I'm a huge fan of many different styles of rock and metal (if you want to talk music), otherwise, as far as games go, I'm pretty inline with the Nintendo leniance on these boards (though I am an owner of all current-gen systems, but only for a couple games on the PS2/Xbox). I'm mad into classic NES/SNES games, the RPG genre (though I don't have much experience with the 32-bit era), and my favorite franchise is Metroid (contains 2 of my #1 games ever, yes, I have more than 1 #1 game).

So, hi

EDIT: 5 minutes in and I already got moderater-owned. I'm not used to no images in sigs Sorry, should've checked the guidelines first...
For reference, it has Samus (MP2 Dark Samus), Ryu Hyabusa (Ninja Gaiden), and Bobbery (Paper Mario: TTYD) in it. Generally representative of my tastes 8)
