Ubi Soft's 2-for-1 Promotion
« on: January 03, 2004, 07:43:07 AM »
All this month, if you buy Prince of Persia you'll get Splinter Cell for free.

Source: Ubi Soft

Ubi Soft has a deal for those still waiting on the fence about buying the excellent Prince of Persia.  All through the month of January, if you buy Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, you'll get Tom Clancy's Spinter Cell for free.

Details on how exactly this will work are unclear.  Ubi says that the deal applies to all major platfroms from the GameCube to the PC, and the free copy of Splinter Cell will be given for the same system that Prince of Persia was purchased.  The promotion will be available at all "major retailers," but it might be a good idea to check ahead and see if your outlet of choice will be offering the freebie.

Steven says: I'd imagine Ubi Soft is doing this to pick up game sales in the extremely slow game-buying month of January.  Whatever the reason, though, picking up two great games for $50 is a great deal.

I'm kind of mad about this. I bought bought Splinter Cell for full price and got Prince of Persia  for Christmas. I would have liked to have gotten the free Splinter Cell and sold it to one of my friends who didnt know about the offer for like $50, because im a nice person who likes to help out his friends.

I have neither, so I am at the best position.  Maybe I will get it, even thought I am not excited about PoP that much.

I'd much rather they drop Prince of Persia to $25 bucks. The math works out alright anyway.

They haven't even released it here for GC yet due to bribery. SCHEISS SONY! Doesn't sound like an interesting deal, though.

Figures.  I just bought Splinter Cell like a week ago.  D'oh.  At least I got it used for only $20 Canadian.  This is a pretty cool deal though considering both game are GOTY contenders.

We should pay for a game based on the amount of hours the adventure lasts.  For PoP, if it's roughly a 10 hour game, we should be paying.... only $10!!!

Final Fantasy would be doomed then.

I hope this offer makes it out of the US, i'd definately get Prince of Persia if i got a free Splinter Cell with it.

Why couldn't it be PoP and BG&E.

I bought POP shortly after it came out but I haven't even started playing it yet.  I could have not bought it and bought it now and gotten a free game I don't want (if I want any version of splinter cell, I want the original xbox version anyway; but I specifically wanted the gamecube versoin of pop).

I too just bought Splinter Cell a little over a week ago.  How aggravating.

It baffles me that Circuit City is offering Beyond Good and Evil for $10 only on the PS2, the console that the game would undoubtedly sell the best on regardless of price. I have a PS2, and I'm tempted to buy it, but I'm not sure which version is the best to get.

I'll definately be pickin of PoP sometime soon.  Free games = happy times.

On a side note: I just beat Beyond Good and Evil a couple hours ago.  Amazing game.  Its been a while since I played a game so addictively.  (I have the Gamecube version btw)
