I have only heard good things but sadly I am going to pass this up for a while, perhaps pick it up in the summer months.  The real Squeenix game I want is The world ends with you, coming up in April.

I'm playing CC now for review.  It's interesting so far.  Party member AI is the pits.  Graphics are nice.  Voice acting (at least in the beginning of the game) is painful on the ears.

It has the same crafting as the GameCube game.  Spells are consumable, you can store up to 10 of almost every spell at one time, cast it once, and you lose one of those 10.  Monsters and chests give you more spells as you play.

Party AI is very stupid, you need to pay attention to them.  Other than that I find the game very fun, both story and multi-player (single player because I have no body local to play with) are both fun.  The story in story mode is actually not bad, I'm only on the 6th area.

What's the wifi about? Is it full fledged questing like local?

No, wifi is lame moogle paint trading and stuff.

I totally agree with Nitsu's comments thus far.  There are some major problems with Party mechanics, but they have taken the story further and it has me quite excited to get into both the standard Wii game and the WiiWare title.

Apparently, it is a prequel to the GC game.

I hate the AI, but equipment bonuses can make it a little better.
Also, you don't earn enough money in story mode.

I'm in the process of writing my review.  My biggest beef right now is that all the work you do in the story mode doesn't carry over to the mission based/multiplayer mode...

This is compounded by the fact that (for the most part) character creation mode in the multiplayer is limited to creating look alikes of the story mode characters.

The game sucks, right?

Commendable core mechanics that don't lead anywhere and don't provide a lasting impression of satisfaction, right?

The story is much better than I expected, and playing multiplayer is fun, but as Pale said, the story items/customization doesn't carry to multiplayer, and there aren't to many stages, unlike the GC counterpart. They try to make up for that by having hard and very hard modes that unlock, but you quickly realize it's exactly what you just did, only tailored to your current level.  To make matters worse, progression in story mode is tied to individual characters, so you can't make a new character and play on whatever stage or difficulty you want on your own.

It's still fun, but they needed bigger enemies and more varying bosses. The best enemies were the large ones, IMO, and most bosses felt like the same thing. I'd recommend as a buy if there's someone who'll play multiplayer with you, and maybe a rent/pass if not. It's worth noting that the game has me excited about the sequels planned.
