General Gaming / Potential Dumb Move By MS
« on: June 15, 2004, 07:16:56 PM »
Well I keep hearing it over and over again and after reading the same rumor at several reliable sites. It seems MS is gonna pull a Sega and launch X-box 2/Xenon in November of 2005. I understand them wanting to get the top on Sony and Nintendo but they are just dooming themselves. Given that Nintendo and MS have the same technological partners MS is assuring that the Revolution will be technically superior, IBM and ATI will have an extra year to tweak the Revolution hardware. Sony is also gonna have the upper hand from a hardware standpoint.

Not only that. The X-box 2/Xenon won't have a hard drive and may not have backward compatiblity. I'm not a big MS fan but at least here in the US they have a bit of momentum. They are actually going toe to toe with the PS2 in sales. By not having Backward compatibility...they will lose the momentum they have. People that currently on the X-Box won't feel obligated to purchase X-box 2 to play there older games. I thought backward compatiblity was unnecessary before but the blind purchasing of the PS2 at launch despite the lack of quality titles proves me wrong.

I'm abit baffled by MS' tactic here am I the only one that thinks they are screwing themselves? I mean X-box sales are on the rise. An X-box 2 launch well ahead of Sony and Nintendo can only curtail X-box sales and leave the X-box 2 in doubt. I don't know. I just find this interesting.

General Gaming / Smart move by Sega Sports
« on: June 13, 2004, 09:59:28 AM »
Sega just announced that they are going to price NFL2K5 for $19.99. I don't know if this going to affect all there sports titles but either way this is an excellent move. NFL2K is superior too Madden and know the average Joe will give it shot. I mean I was going to buy it anyway but a lot of people are hesitant to job of the Madden bandwagon. Hopefully this will help pry them off. Madden is nearly the same gamer every year and its $50 a pop and Sega's pricing would justify a purchasing  a new game every year even to sports game haters.

General Gaming / THATS IT!!! I'm boycotting Sony
« on: June 01, 2004, 03:34:39 PM »
I've simply had it with Sony's substandard product quality. My PS2 just died. It was working fine and then its dead. My brother's PS2 died, my best friend's died, one of my other friends is on his THIRD PS2, etc. etc. I was telling the girl at my local EB about how poor the quality of the PS1 was and how thankfully I hadn't had any problems with my PS2. She then told me that about half of their PS2's comeback within a few months due to hardware failure. I was a bit perturbed but not as incensed as I was when my PS2 died. My Gamecube gets the majority of my play time. My PS2 has been gatherong dust lately and when I finally want to start up a new quest of Suikoden 3...I get a black screen. No wonder the guys at my local Gamestop and EB don't offer the extended warranty until someone asks about it.

Between myself, my brother and my friends Sony has about an 80% product failure rate. Completely unacceptable! I encourage anyone with similar experiences to refuse to buy Sony's products. Maybe when their pockets get a bit empty they'll learn to make decent consumer electronics. My best friend and my brother intend to by new PS2s....I'm gonna due my best to convince them otherwise. I don't care if its an X-Box or GC but as long as it isn't one of those poorly constructed POS Sony PS2's.

P.S. Sorry about the rant but I'm highly PISSED right now.

Nintendo Gaming / Tales of Legendia?
« on: April 11, 2004, 11:29:55 AM »
With the announcement of Tales of Rebirth and a Tales of Symphonia port for PS2, I was wondering if Namco still planned on releasing the Tales of Symphonia sequel on GC. The game was called Tales of Legendia I believe at it was announced after the strong sales of ToS on GC in Japan. Namco said before the release of Tales of Symphonia that they were expected worldwide sales of it and Baten Kaitos to 500,000 units per title. ToS has already sold over 300,000 units in Japan. I'm sure it won't have any problems selling at least as much between the US and European markets. I don't know how Baten Kaitos sold. I know it didn't sell as well as Tales of Symphonia. Could the sales of Baten Kaitos be the reason for the port of Tales of Symphonia? Or did Nintendo pulll and MS and get a limited exclusive deal? And most importantly, are we still getting Tales of Legendia? Whether we are or not I'm still buying both ToS and BK. Strong sales would defintately get Namco's attention.

Nintendo Gaming / New Bundle better than price drop
« on: May 15, 2003, 08:21:39 PM »
Its seems that Nintendo is gonna bundle the Gameboy Player with the Gamecube for $149.99. It doesn't say whether the regular cube is gonna get a price drop or not but I think this is an excellent idea. It give the Gamecube something the the X-box and PS2 cannot offer. Here is the link. Text Anybody wanna buy my used GC. I want to buy a new Platinum GC with GBPlayer included

Nintendo Gaming / Sega Announces New Shining Force....
« on: May 08, 2003, 05:06:26 PM »
I was perusing the web as usual when I came across the news that Sega has anounced a new Shining Force game. Now it didn't say which console it was for but I know that Shining Force was a product of Sonic Team and Camelot. That being the case.....doesn't it have to be produced for GC. Camelot hasn't made a game that wasn't for Nintendo in quite sometime, can Sega do a Shining Force without them? I hope not......if they need Camelot then I think the new Shining Force game would have to be GC. I saw this story at the Magic Box....here is the linkThe Magic Box

Nintendo Gaming / Gradius Galaxies
« on: May 06, 2003, 08:47:53 PM »
Has anyone gotten this title so far? If so how does it compare to the previous Gradius titles? Does have the same feel, difficulty and fun factor? Does it compare well to Ikaruga and is it worth having both? Sorry about all the questions....but as the saying goes....if you don't know ask. I confident that Gradius Galaxies will look and feel like Gradius...after all it is developed my Mobile 21. And since Mobile 21 was co founed  by Konami and Nintendo.....it should as good as if Konami themselves created it. Too bad Mobile 21 was created just for GBA support.....I would like to see them to a GC version of Gradius or maybe even do another Gyruss.

General Chat / Buyrite Games
« on: April 22, 2003, 10:02:46 AM »
First let me start off by saying that I have been order from Buyrite Games for 5 years now and before now I've never had any problems . That stated I just wanted to warn you guys to be cautious from ordering from them. I ordered Splinter Cell and Burnout 2 on 4/10/03 from Buyrite and I haven't gotten notification that they have shipped yet. I've gotten the notification that they received my order and my card was charged on 4/12/03. Its been twelve days and no games. Usually get my games within 2 or 3 days not including Sundays. This is the first time I haven't gotten my order promptly. To be honest the only reason I'm so peeved is that they could have at least sent me and email stating that there was a delay in my order or something. This is terrible customer service. They have yet to respond to the email I sent them 3 days ago as well. Sorry about my rant but I just wanted to let everyone know the problems I've had with my last order. Damn shame for them, after 5 years I'm no longer going to be ordering from them.

Nintendo Gaming / Something New from the Big N
« on: April 11, 2003, 12:42:58 PM »
I was just thinking about this today. I still love my games from Nintendo. They are well designed, well thought out, and great to play through but I'm longing for something new. With the exception of Metroid Prime, I bought Mario Sunshine and Zelda more out of habit than out of a dire need to have them. I don't regret my purchases but I want something completely new and from Nintendo. Any word on these new franchises that are to be at E3? Is there just gonna be one or a couple. I liked ED, Metroid is a great game as well but I want something all new from Nintendo. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way but with Mario and Zelda is the same general story each game. I play through for the experience but I want to be surprised. I have a PS2 but it basically gathers dust. I mainly have it for my RPG fix. The GC is my main system and there is something I can get from Nintendo games that I can't get elsewhere...especially with the way Sega has gone as of late. Sorry about the Dennis Miller style rant but any word on the new franchises at all what type of games they will be, the type of genres, any possible new genres?

Nintendo Gaming / Wavebird Issues
« on: April 05, 2003, 03:39:49 PM »
Hey just bought one 3 days ago, I love the controller but it suddenly stopped working....I don't know why. I don't think the receivers working the green light doesn't come on anymore. Any suggestions if not I'll just take it back for another.
