Marvel Moviefan is the new tendoboy.
Woah there now, do say things you don't want to take back.

I'm hoping this is temporary insanity. I guess we'll find out in 72 hours. - Shaymin
Yeah that should do it, thanks. Lucario fan it is up to you to take my place. I got bigger and better things to move onto anyways, this place is purely a waste of my time. You can now return to your regularly schedule doldrums.  :confused; :-\ ::) ;) :D ;D :@ :( :Q :) :P: : : : :'(

if you are still taking requests I could use a new wipe. I don't know if I asked for one recently. If not it's not a big deal I hardly notice anyways.

Last Man Standing has begin it's downward spiral since about mid-season. I am hoping it can make a come back but so far it's just not as funny as it used to be.

I also don't get all this talk about how we need "new blood" here but in the Konami discussion people make it sound like its the end of the world an old timer leaving the company to make way for this "new blood" everyone says Nintendo desperately needs.

I think the difference here is that Kojima was really the last of the big talent at Konami, as all the other big talent from the NES->PS1 eras had left the company previously.  And as far as we know, there is no "new blood" to take over for Kojima in terms of developing traditional games. Just look at the original incarnation of Metal Gear Rising for an idea of what a Konami team looked like without Kojima's direct involvement. In fact, Konami in general has pretty much left the industry already, so Kojima's leaving was pretty much the last nail in the coffin for a beloved developer.

Meanwhile, Nintendo's not going anywhere, but general perception seems to be that their games have gotten stale over the years. That's why you see the push for younger talent to start taking more prominent roles in the company.

Not that those aren't good points, but wasn't NES Remix the result of this new talent? Wasn't that was just an excuse to play NES games at work, or so the story goes. I get the feeling that management is in charge no matter what so new talent is pretty much wasted as long as the old timers are running the show.

As far as I can tell nothing concrete has been said about NX just yet just a few vague comments that could be taken as hints no more.

Isn't it possible that Nintendo has been monitoring the buzz surrounding Splatoon and they are thinking it Could it be the the big game this year so they felt Zelda wasn't necessary this year?

Also aren't most of the big indie games all made by people who grew up on Nintendo and are all trying to recapture the retro feel from those same games the old timers made back in their prime?

As far as timing goes, yeah it sounds too convenient for them to not be connected whatsoever.

pretty much, you think it's hard to be a Nintendo fan these days try being loyal to Sega, not happening those who are left have long lost their minds. 60% of discussions are always when the hell will Sega make a new console, it got old.

I feel the same about Mario Party 10, I am alone now in my 30's and have no one to play with. If it had been online I would buy it but I refuse to play those games single player that is not fun at all.

Here is a thought about that empty building Adrock brought up, what if they are holding onto it so they can lease it to someone else as office space or you know sell it when they get desperate? Nintendo is a very conservative company I can seem them sitting on it for a long time if its more cost productive to do so.

Netflix isn't $8 a month anymore they already did raise their price, just existing customers were locked in till the end of this year. I have Cable but not HBO so I was considering this over HBO Go, what are the differences? The only reasons I don't have HBO with the cable is I do not control the cable nor do I pay that bill so I am limited. But it isn't the end of the world and I only just learned about the Apple deal recently so that sort of changes things.

This is actually good news for Xenoblade since it gives it a better chance of selling in the West now.  Having 2 massive open world games coming out around the same time was always going to make one take attention away from the other, which we all know Zelda would get all the hype.  Now Xenoblade will be the only game of its kind coming out on the Wii U this Fall, which will help give it more attention from people who before would have ignored it in favor of Zelda because "OMG IT"S ZELDA".

Yeah, only on a Nintendo console is that a problem, having competition is a good thing, having variety and choices is a good thing, but not if you are talking Nintendo they can't compete so they make their games and consoles fit into their little world and spread out their releases because Nintendo fans for some reason can't buy more than one game at a time? Last time I checked the big boys get one of these types of games every couple of months, they seem to be doing pretty well. Also Zelda is going to sell to an entirely different segment of the market than Xenoblade X, there is some overlap but X is an RPG Zelda is not they are different demographics. RPG gamers are starved for something to play on Wii U, Zelda gamers have plenty to hold them over, especially once you dive into VC.

Alright I am off tomorrow I will check it out if I don't forget. Keep it up man and if you need money to get it onto Wii U we can talk.

14
I am planning on buying Splatoon near launch, Mortal Kombat X digital preordered waiting for it to download and install to my PS4, and beyond that I don't plan out my purchases too far in advance but these two games are happening no matter what.

wow Luigi Dude what an attitude, they been making the same **** up for 20 years so get over it? IS that how you approach 3rd party support, lack of basic features that EVERY console since Dreamcast has done well, the really odd and limiting media features that feel like an after thought despite them PRAISING them as a selling point for the console. Yeah great attitude just forgive Nintendo for making another mistake because they been doing it all along.

Personally it doesn't matter to me I actually am not angry I am relieved. Because it means they *are* moving on from Wii U and dropping the dead console to focus on bringing out NX with the strongest line up they can muster. If that means dropping all Wii U support and pulling a Saturn FINE, because nobody is going to complain. Seriously the early adopters that might complain are the ones who are addicted to Nintendo, everyone else who either held off, or is holding off, will be HAPPY with a replacement. Looking at sales numbers I think it is clear there are MORE people not interested in Wii U than those who would be happy to see it get a full five years, which it will not get.

General Chat / HBO Now thoughts?
« on: March 28, 2015, 01:11:14 AM »
I am just wondering if anyone is interested in this new service? I am fairly certain this won't be on Wii U at this point but if it is on PS3 or PS4 then I might consider it.

17
I like these videos keep em coming guys. Personally looking at the Wii U release schedule I am fine with Zelda not coming this year, mainly because if X is as big as they are saying there is not enough time to play both of those games in the same year. A 2D Metroid would be a perfect fit and if they do another HD remake I would want Sunshine or Mario 64 before another Zelda but if they do a Zelda I vote for OOT.

I also think this could be a good time to announced a Paper Mario as a replacement as Mario seems to be taking center stage with Wii U. Unless this really is the final march for Wii U before they gear up whatever NX turns out to be.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: PS4 Error CE-34878-0 anyone?
« on: March 28, 2015, 01:00:04 AM »
Yes, I managed to fix my save and get back into my world I created. It was not an easy fix. First I had to restore the database in safe mode, then make a copy of the save, then turn auto save off in game, load the game, fix the problem that caused the crash, and then save the file. It was a long process but not nearly as long as the time invested in creating this world so I am happy I was able to fix it.

19
We don't know that, they could very well be pushing to get NX released next year. If it is a new console it makes sense. If it is a hybrid it makes sense. What doesn't make sense is delaying Zelda to next year unless they really are digging their heels in with Wii U. If that is the direction they are going then they had better get some more games announced then what we know about so far.

All Wii U games were significantly delayed by about five years when the stupid thing should have launched in the first place.

What the **** where did I say I liked the Transformers movies? I said I didn't entirely hate the first one but I think you have me confused with someone else.

I know what StarShip Troopers was doing, that part I get what they were doing I didn't say I didn't like it geeze I said it didn't live up to the hype, maybe if I saw it when it was new but I didn't I liked it just not near as spectacular as it was made out to be.

Also I am going to say this again, I am a film student I have probably seen and studied more films that you, its not just my passion it is what I have been going to school for. Sure I have taken a few detours along the way due to the limitations of life, but that has always been my primary focus. I appreciate films as art so stop trying to pretend you know anything about me, the ONLY thing I have ever admitted to liking that you were openly against is the Star Wars prequels and those are an entirely different matter, Star Wars is super emotional for everyone so its not judged fairly as a film franchise.

22
I go could two ways with this news, one is they are expecting strong growth in Wii U and are hoping pushing Zelda back to next year will give them something to hold gamers over while they work on other stuff, or two they have officially given up on Wii U and are moving this to NX. I would put my money on option two at this point. Which would make Wii U the first home console to not have a proper Zelda released for it, much like Saturn was Sega's first console to not get a proper Sonic game. Wii U= Saturn then as we all expected?

23
So I am Batman and your the cop, I can live with that.

Starship Troppers is not what it seems. If you are watching it and thinking it is taking itself seriously than you are missing the point. The movie is a satire on war propaganda films. If you watch Eli Roth's "Stolz der Nation" on Inglorious Basterds then you can see the comparison. Its a very subtle satire. Only the director and some of the audience are in on it.

I am fully aware of that, that was what I didn't like about it. I was expecting it to be similar to Robocop but it wasn't a bad movie just didn't live up to the hype.
