Already own the Super Mario All-Stars release on Wii, so not gonna waste coins on SMB3 again. I am luke-warm on Metroid II based on everything I have heard on it. I love F-Zero GX, but think that F-Zero: Maximum Velocity is a POS, and have never played F-Zero X. I MIGHT pick up F-Zero, or save coins for next month.

X is a lot closer to GX than the 2D games. Some folks actually like X more than GX. It sounds like it might be worth if for you.

Never heard of Link n' Launch before, but even if it turns out to be a dud that's still an impressive set of games.

Am I crazy, or wasn't there supposed to be some sort of discount for purchasing both Zeldas? Maybe that was Japan only. Or mere wishful thinking.

Edit: Ah, I see, they're on sale for a buck less each until the 20th. Like it said in article. I r smart.

Nintendo: "We have just agreed... I have told your names to the Entmoot, and we have agreed you are not orcs."

Well played, sir.

I'm thinking of picking some of these up once my rechargeable batteries start to lose their charge time. I had the Nyko rechargeable kit, but it wasn't particularly good, and it lost its charge after just a few dozen times. Here's hoping Nintendo's kit is better crafted!

Mr. Horberg interviewed quite well. I like what he said and how he said it, and I eagerly await his next project!

I'll give the Vita credit: I said the price cut would only create a temporary bump, and that it'd be back to sub-10k shortly, but "shortly" took a few weeks longer than I thought.

Ugh... The worst part about the conference was all the "WOOOOOOOO" going on for what seemed like the most mundane announcements.  It felt so forced.

MS is the odd one out since Sony confirmed that their ps4 games don't have used-DRM.

I thought they were much more evasive on that point, something along the lines of "well, the developer doesn't have to implement DRM" or some such.

The iPhone today!

I think I'm missing the joke :(

The iPhone in two years.

I used to play the NES game religiously, even though I was so bad at it. This sounds like a higher-resolution version of that same game. Depending on the price tag, it might be worth a pick up for the nostalgia value alone.

I was always curious about Murasame. I've heard it's not that great, but then again I'm not sure I trust those sources. Hope it comes to the US.

63
It's definitely a different game with save states. The stages where you fight two of the past Robot Masters become a complete and utter pain in the ass, for starters...

64
Haven't played this game since the early 90's, but it's still a blast. I've completely forgotten the "correct" order to defeat the bosses, but I seem to have lucked out, since I picked Top Man at random. From there I've just been going clockwise, so aside from Shadow Man I haven't been exploiting any weaknesses yet.

On a related note, am I using Top Man's power incorrectly? I don't recall pirouetting into enemies to be the ideal way to use a boss' weapon, and I sometimes take damage when I use it...

On a broader note, the game's easier than I remember. I only died three times in four stages so far (twice to Shadow Man, before I remembered to try using prior powers. I couldn't figure out what pattern, if any, he uses, and his slides hurt).

I suspect though that's mostly because I recently replayed Castlevania, which has instilled a certain caution and deliberateness in me. One thing I really like about the series, and this game in particular, is that there are extremely few "cheap" moments, at least so far. There are plenty of death pits, and enemies placed in infuriating positions (hate those stupid hedgehogs), but you always get a chance to observe the danger in relative safety first, so you know how to approach the things. One example that leapt out to me was Shadow Man's stage, where the parachuting enemies can knock you back into a pit, but the first few stop high enough to warn you, with future ones gradually creeping down. By the time you encounter one that will hit you the moment you land on the platform, you've run into three or so such enemies, so dying there is really your own fault for not paying attention. Contrast this with other NES games, like the crows in Ninja Gaiden, and Mega Man III feels even more refreshing in its fairness.

As soon as i showed my roommate my wiiu he was interested in what a fallout game would be like on wiiu because the character has a handheld device called a pitbull that the WiiU tablet could emulate perfectly.

It's a "Pipboy." I point this out only because the mental image of having a pitbull clamped around your wrist for the whole game amuses me to no end.  ;D

The surprising thing is this is only the 2nd time since 1997 that only 1 QB/RB/WR was selected in the top 10.

The explanation I heard was that this tends to happen in weaker drafts, which may explain why the words "deep draft" kept getting thrown around this week.

67
You know, I never really get caught up in the draft. It's interesting to see which team went where afterwards, but there are so many busts and so many unexpected successes that I have a hard time getting hyped up about any of it. Especially since I think you can't really evaluate a draft until a couple of games into the season.

Nintendogs certainly lacks the legs of its predecessor. Wonder why that is?

I'm pretty sure Nintendo wanted Pikmin/Wonderful 101/Game & Wario all out in Q1, but it seems pretty clear they're all having development problems. I think on some level this hasn't been Nintendo not learning from their mistakes as much as it has been Nintendo not having enough experience with "HD" development to accurately judge what kind of time they were going to need.

That explanation makes some sense for Wario and Pikmin*, but since Platinum Games are the folks developing Wonderful 101 it can't explain everything.

*It would be a terrible excuse too, since the transitional problems are well documented and there are an abundance of experienced HD devs out there nowadays.

I'll admit it: Luigi's Mansion is doing much, much better than I anticipated.

Ahh, the monthly "lets break the rules" thread again?  It's that time, already?

Sure is, you, er, you...snot-faced poopy-head! NWR sucks! Up/Down with Religion X!

I was afraid that DQX wouldn't sell, and I hate to see that I'm right. I'm not right very often, so, it sucks when I don't want to be and it happens.

This is why you need to pledge to only use your powers for good.

I think 5,000 is pretty good for a WiiWare game in 2012.
The exact wording was "sold less than 5000" so that might be anything from zero to 4999. Same with revenue.

Also developer regrets doing XBLA port since it turned out to be the most hassle with littlest return. Ratio of profit per copy sold is the lowest among all platforms.

Is it just that Microsoft (and publisher) took the biggest chunk of the four platforms, or that the WiiWare version made more profit overall despite having a third of the sales?
