Lara Croft's original adventure is sure to waggle your Wiimote. http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=13458 IGN has learned that Tomb Raider: Anniversary Edition, a 10th anniversary reworking of the original PlayStation game, will be coming to the Wii sometime this year.
An interview with Eidos president and CEO Bill Gardner confirms the news.
Details on how the game will work on the Wii are scarce, though Gardner does say that "t's not a port. It's a unique version." He is, of course, referring to the fact that the game is under development for the PlayStation 2 (and PSP), and the bump up to the Wii will be bringing Wii-specific enhancements that should include purpose-built Wii controls.
Because Eidos and developer Crystal Dynamics didn't receive Wii development kits in time, the Wii version of the game won't be hitting shelves with the PS2 version, due out at the end of this month. It'll definitely be out in 2007, however, so Tomb Raider fans may want to free some space toward the end of the year.
