So here's the question.  How long will it take the PS4 to drop under the 3DS in Per Week?

I say four weeks.
From now or the Fourth week out?

I think it will be next week honestly.

So here's the question.  How long will it take the PS4 to drop under the 3DS in Per Week?

After the huge drop from last week, either next week or the week after.  Considering how poorly the current software is selling and the fact the system has no major exclusives that will boast sales in the near future, it's going to be below 10k with the Wii U by the end of April.

PS4 supply is still limited (hell it's limited everywhere) so those numbers might not actually reflect the demand and at the end of April is Japanese Golden Week start so I'm guessing a few people will be receiving an PS4 as gifts as well.

Also MGS Ground Zero is launching in a few weeks along with Nobunaga no Yabou Online, Natural Doctrine, and Dynasty Warrior 8 complete should help the ps4 maintain an 30K average a few more weeks.

I guarantee PS4 only sold those 66k (right?) consoles last week because there were only 66k to sell. Final Fantasy whatever the hell it is will be out soon, and there are probably a lot of people playing the beta in Japan right now so they don't need to buy a game.

I think everyone knew the PS4 was going to sweep the Wii U under the rug in Japan, that was to be expected, but to see the PS4 dropping so drastically after such a huge start is kind of odd. I don't know if it will be in May or April but Nintendo can count on me for one more Wii U sale now that I have seen how great DKC:TP is and that I have found out about Hyrule Warriors I have some new found hype for the system I had given up on.

I guess what I meant was I am surprised the system dropped so much so fast, I mean sure it has game shortages but that hasn't stopped anyone else from buying it the hype alone is mostly what's sold it till now the games are all down the road. Is it because the Japanese don't buy into hype and promises like Europeans/Americans do?

Japan has become handheld land over the last decade since handhelds have reached a point where every type of game is possible on them now and it fits the average Japanese persons lifestyle a lot better.  As a result, home consoles just don't have the appeal they once did anymore.

So for a system like the PS4, where the only upcoming major exclusives that will appeal to Japanese gamers are Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3, two games that are at least a year away, there's not a big demand to grab one.  Especially when the cheaper 3DS and Vita currently have a greater lineup of games along with more exclusives in the near future to get their attention.

Yeah, I think the PS4's already shown in NA & European sales that Japan really doesn't matter anymore in the long run when it comes to consoles. Sony will probably settle for "merely" outselling every other console in Japan by a fair margin.

They still have 35 weeks to go to beat the WiiU.  That's if there isn't a single WiiU sold and the PS4 keeps with the current weekly number.

Wii U sold more in its first three weeks, so I have my doubts that the PS4 will ever surpass it. Plus, I think the Wii U has more games that appeal to the Japanese audience, and that will likely continue.

No, but it does increase the chance of Nintendo bringing over the Dragon Quest VII remake for the 3DS since both Fire Emblem and Bravely Default opened over 200k, showing the 3DS has a decent sized fanbase JRPG fans that would make localizing that enormous game worth it.

I'm disappointed, but not surprised, to not see Lords of Shadow 2 make the Top 10. I really like that game, but after all the really terribly-written reviews it's gotten I expected as much. I'm a little surprised to see Lightning Returns charting that high up, all things considered. I wonder how Earth Defense Force 2025 did, considering a recent discussion on NFR.

Bravely Default sequel is already in the works for the 3DS.

I don't think Donkey Kong moved WII U units, retailers had a fire sale (example Sam's $100 WII U Zelda bundle--people were price matching that deal like mad since the website stated the units were in stock even though it wasn't).
