I finally bought Black Ops 2. I almost went with Ghosts last minute because Amazon has the Wii U version for $40. But BLOPS2 dropped to $30 and I wanted the zombie modes so I went with that title for now.

If anyone has the U version and wants to play sometime, let me know.

Finally found a copy of Kirby's Return to Dreamland (Wii) for a very reasonable $10.  Definitely happy about this. It was the last "big" Wii game that I really wanted to pick up for my collection.

Grabbed Kickbeat, OlliOlli, Everyday Shooter and Retro/Grade off the PSN sale, Tales of Vesperia on the 360 for $15, and Dr Luigi on the WiiU shop. Spreading my love around, it seems.

I bought a Wii U about a week ago (the Mario bundle). I recently bought the following games:

- Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
- Super Mario 3D World
- Batman: Arkham Origins
- Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
- Sonic Lost World (very mediocre, going to sell it and get Sonic Colors instead)

My next games will be Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Watch_Dogs (gotta love that Ubisoft support).

As long as the Wii U keeps getting support from Ubisoft, Activision, and WB Games then I don't care about the other developers who shun it. Activision is a given because they put their games on everything.

So apparently Tomb Raider PS4 got stealth released today/tomorrow-ish. Definitely picking that up.  :D

I got Wii Party U for $30 at Best Buy. It was $40, but we had a $10 reward certificate.

I also got some fun figurines in the mail!

It is an odd game. I spent a day playing it and it was a fun, if quirky, time. I loaned it to my sister and never got around to picking up again.

I enjoyed it for what it was. It didn't come close to its predecessors, but it has a great soundtrack at least.

Well if you do get around to it, you might enjoy it. It has its issues, but I thought it was fun to explore and the combat is fairly unique. The story is decent as well, even if there is a lot of obsessing about crystals.

The Source (Canada) has it marked down for clearance. The problem is finding stock - especially since the game isn't even listed online anymore.  I was lucky enough to find a store with 2 copies left while visiting a different city; in retrospect, should have bought them both.

Other clearance Wii games worth watching for:
* Rhythm Heaven Fever - $5
* Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings - $1 (lousy game, but worth it for The Fate of Atlantis unlockable)

I already had both, although had paid slightly more for them.

A Link to the Past on Virtual Console for $1.50. Thanks, Club Nintendo.

I have the GBA version on hold at my friend's Play N' Trade. I'd like to get two to play the original Four Swords.

This would be my PSN Trophy Card, but I guess I can't post HTML in my Signature. I'm the pixel spaceship, and I have nine Gold trophies.

I had a buy 2 get 1 free coupon for Gamestop. So I picked up:

The Last of Us
Xenoblade Chronicles
Metroid Prime: Trilogy

It's incredible how expensive Xendoblade & Metroid Prime Trilogy are being sold at, so this was my best chance at getting a decent price for them.

I just picked up Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, and Ducktales: Remastered (PS3) in a Buy Two Get One free sale (about $32). I bought two more RPGs because sure, I need more RPGs in my back catalog. An interesting thing about them is that I didn't play the second installment of either series. I almost bought The Lost Age on clearance years ago, but I probably wouldn't have played it. In any case, I now have two good reasons to break out the old DSi since I don't really like playing regular DS games on my 3DS (black borders = boo/hiss).

Urban Trial Freestyle (3DS):
Got it on sale for 3,5 euros.

It's poor man's Trials. The physics is simply not wonky enough. In real Trials physics is super weird but totally makes sense with how your body tilts the bike and how suspension reacts to it. Generally, trying to do a wheelie will almost always will topple you over on your back.

In Urban Trials you land on your back wheel, go like that for 100 meters or so and then just press right and bike stands up on two wheels right away. So it's removing some of the confusion but also removes the challenge of working with bike's physics and that was what made Trials fun in the first place. Handling is closer to ExciteBike than to "realistic" suspension based physics of Trials.

Still Trials' clone is still somewhat Trials and it's still fun enough. With Ubisoft regrettably snubbing Nintendo platforms that's as close to Trials as you can get, i suppose.

Each level has additional challenges and it's kinda cool. Some leaderboard functionalty -- also appreciated.

I recently bought Super Mario Galaxy (again) for my Wii U. The game is still just as fun and gorgeous as I remember it. I couldn't find Galaxy 2 at any retail stores. Oh well, from now on I'm just buying all my games online from Amazon.com or Walmart.com.

I need to go pick up a copy of the original Galaxy. I borrowed it from a friend and beat Bowser once before returning it. I'd love to go through it again and complete everything. I do own 2. Still need to finish that one as well.

Retail is already second fiddle in my book. Amazon meets 90% of my gaming needs. They have the luxury of getting to keep all their product in warehouses so they don't have to deal with the dilemma of wasted shelfspace.

I still like to browse at brick-and-mortar stores but will only bite if it is a great bargain deal or something I already planned to pay full price for early on.

I got my wife on board for buying some old arcade machines down the road. I have a soft spot for Pac-Man and Donkey Kong. One of those Neo-Geo cabinets where you can swap out the boards easily would be a fun one to start with.
