I'm honored to be a nominee! That's a cool idea that I haven't seen utilized often enough by other podcasts (Bitmob did it a lot before going monthly with their podcast). I hope this actually materializes into something regular here :)I'm honored to be a nominee! I'm actually thinking of posting a thread to see of some of us forumers want to do a single podcast episode for kicks.

Hey everyone, unfortunately I don't think we will be able to support this idea on RFN. There are too many problems of a technical and logistical nature; it is difficult for us to have guests with podcast experience, much less newcomers.

However, we are having a live call-in show this coming Saturday, and that is the perfect opportunity for you to get your voice on the show. Please check the 249 show article for more details, and check back in the next couple of days for the live event page.

I can't speak for the rest of the people on the list, but I know I'm not podcast material. I don't think I could manage having a conversation for about an hour. Sounds tough. Count me out, sorry guys.

There was one Community Podcast episode Ty did ages ago. The thread is somewhere in the funhouse probably.

If I cut together a podcast I like to do a lot little different segments.  With just a couple at a time.  Like doing a cooking segment with BnM and Shyguy.  A backlog Segment with jrlibrarian and Killer_Man_Jaro(sp).  Sort of going to what everyone else does around here.

I'd be down with helping with a community forum podcast.

Does this mean I get a segment about your mom?

That was a close one.  I really thank you for doing this for me.  I mean she may not talk to me for a whole year.  A Whole Year.  The Misses will be so relieved.

Oh, But you also have to do another segment on game collecting.  Brandogg could talk about interesting repair stories. etc.

I could probably help with editing some parts of it too, when I have the time. It sounds like this would be a long-term project, so having it done on a weekly basis like RFN probably won't happen, am I right?

In my Vision of the whole thing it would be a one shot with options.  I mainly like to try my hand at editing and well we have a geographically diverse population here, Go us!  Doesn't make since to do an RFN style show.

In my mind we do Small Segments and then join those segments to make a show.  Maybe have some of our different Geo Regions form little groups and record their own piece at convenient times.

From my understanding of how things work with other Podcast, which is limited.  You have what amounts to a conference call.  That is is probably recorded for just in case.  Each individual member of the podcast record their side of the conversation.  This allows for each voice to be on its own track helping with editing. Skype, Ventrilo, whatever can be used for the call and Audacity or similar used for the recording.  Their are notes and talking points for the show to keep it from becoming to unorganized.

As I said could be fun.

So basicly any one can help and the people can have a segment of their topic of choice that would be cool. Can I help too if its all right?

Sure if we do it.  I mean the segments need to be Forum relevant and involve at least 2 forumers because its about connecting.

I really, really like this idea and am in support of it 100%. Another idea of mine for an NWR Community Forum podcast was to discuss the most popular/longest running threads on our forums with about 3-4 different members every 2-4 weeks. We would give a synopsis of the thread, read people's posts, chime in with our own opinions, then move on. I've always been fascinated with the idea of a podcast discussing forum threads and posts exclusively. Maybe it can work, maybe not, but I think this is the venue to give it a try.

Someone should do a dramatic reading of the PSN thread similar to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-9Svsp3ZEU

I just assumed someone so much better at everything than I am wouldn't waste his time following me around. That would imply you're actually not awesome, and instead strange, weird, and kind of sad. That couldn't be the case, could it?

I can be awesome AND strange, weird, and kind of sad. I'm a complicated man.

Insano has been on 1 or 2 episodes of the Newscast, where he made it clear has no soul (j/k). He hates Super Mario World AND The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
