Title: Need to seperate the GCN mobo from plastic base
Post by: MrShag on February 15, 2003, 04:43:28 AM
Hello.

I want to paint my GCN and for that, I need to seperate the plastic base, to be painted, from the GCN motherboard. I ripped my GCN to pieces but stopped at the final step because I couldn't find a way to seperate the base from the mobo.

Has anyone done this before? Because I would really love to paint my GCN.

Thanks everyone.

Nah, I saw your post, I just refrained from comment, as I didn't have anything to add.  I would never take apart my GameCube, except for maybe sometime to clean/replace the cooling fan.  I gotta admire your bravery though.  My GameCube is too precious to me to risk it.

When I took mine apart to mod it, I didn't have any problem removing it from the base.

How did you do it?

I tried to remove all the visible screws and lift the mobo by the metal edging with a flat screwdriver but it did not go off even if I was pulling pretty hard.

Do you have any advices on how I should proceed?

Edit: Typo.
