Whoops, my bad. There are no controller ports on the front of the Revolution, they are on the side/top of the console. IGN has a photograph of it.

(And I SERIOUSLY doubt Ninty would ever consider going with a competitor's media...That's absurd...)

Actually Nintendo is already doing that by going with the DVD-format. Sony is one of the companies that started the DVD-format, just like with the Blue-ray format.

According to your logic, Nintendo would still be using cartridge based technology for the GameCube, because Sony has played an important role in the invention of nearly all of the important optical disc formats available at the time the GameCube was released.

TalkBack / RE: First Homebrew DS Game Created
« on: February 14, 2005, 12:51:11 AM »
I am afraid this is a hoax. The screenshot on that site has changed over the last few days. The first screenshot had Tetris running on the top screen. Now that PGC has reported it, the bottom screen in the photo suddenly is displaying Tetris as well, while the top screen hasn't changed. That is very odd. I'm not saying that it isn't possible to run homebrew games on the DS yet, which is possible, I am only saying that this Tetris game isn't running on the DS.

EDIT: I was wrong, see post below.

The guy that founded the company that gave us Army Men inducted into a gaming hall of fame? Forget that he founded EA, founding 3D0 is much worse!

It's four Nintendo games, or a GameCube plus game.

I've managed to get one! Hopefully Nintendo will send it out to me soon! This offer is for all the European Nintendo sites that have the VIP system, not just the UK site by the way.

TalkBack / RE: Warp Pipe Project Staying Masked
« on: November 03, 2004, 09:14:58 PM »
The fact that all games that support wireless multiplayer will use some of the Demasked technology seems to support the idea that they are working directly with Nintendo. I find it hard to believe that they could be working with the PSP as well. The "Demasking" has also only been delayed by a month or two, so it would be extremely difficult to port it to another system in that space of time.

EDIT: Chad has also hinted towards Animal Crossing DS being able to use Demasked. Which leands more support to the theory that WarpPipe is working directly with Nintendo.

I've read on the WarpPipe forums that the reason they are accomodating for another party breaking into the market, is because they don't want their ideas to be stolen.

www.ilovebeams.com
www.iloveknees.com
www.iloveskis.com
www.ilovekeys.com

It's pretty funny!

Actually, those domins don't seem to be registered to Nintendo. I doubt that nintendo would do an "all your base" reference.

Did anyone happen to figure out the password for Orbos Labs web site? I'm fairly certain (considering the speed) that the login.php file(at this point) just takes you to invalid.htm, but I could be wrong.

The ilove domains are all registered by a Tony Novak. Guess who registered the Channel 51 and Orbis Labs domains? That's right, Tony Novak! Nintendo has used the names of employees and fake companies before to register domain names, so that's probably what happened here.

It is very stupid on Sega's part to allow this bug into PSO, especially since it is so easy to prevent. Sign the code with a private encryption key and put the corresponding public key in the game. The public key can then be used to verify that the code originates from Sega. What's more stupid is that all PSO games have this "bug". PSO 1&2+ and PSO3 both have this bug even though they were released long after it was discovered.

Datel's memory card has a USB-connector on it, so it wouldn't work with any other memory cards.

Hopefully they will release the MAX Drive Pro soon as well.

Nintendo Gaming / GBA-games using touchscreen?
« on: October 08, 2004, 01:39:14 PM »
I was looking through the videos of the Japanese NDS press conference on Gamespot when I discovered something odd. In between the videos for NDS games, there was a video for a GBA game running on the NDS. The video showed someone at the press conference inserting the Pokemon Leaf Grean cartridge into the system and switching it on. After clicking a few times there are a number of Pokemon on both screens. After picking Picachu, it looks like you could draw on Picachu's picture using the touchscreen. Gamespot didn't have any text or newsitem to go with the video except "This movie shows how the Nintendo DS can be used to customize your Pokemon." and the whole video is in Japanese and it's difficult to see what's going on the screen, so I'm not sure if you need a certain DS game to do this, but it looks like GBA-games can use some of the functionality of the NDS. It hasn't been mentioned on any other site either. You can find the video here. Watch the video labeled "Nintendo DS Demonstration". Does anyone know exactly what is going on in the video?

TalkBack / RE: Mystery DS Port Revealed
« on: August 25, 2004, 01:09:34 PM »
According to the final design pictures of the DS the microphone is built-in. You can clearly see it say "mic" on those pictures. Nintendo is also hinting that there may be some special use for this port, but won't say what. If it is indeed the microphone port, why would Nintendo be so secretive about the port? We already know about the microphone. I therefor don't think it is the microphone port, it just doesn't make sense.

Huh, since when is it being released nearly simultaneously around the world? Europe isn't going to get it at until at least three months after the US and Japan.

TalkBack / RE: European Release Schedule
« on: May 15, 2004, 01:34:13 PM »
Is it me or is Four Swords Adventures missing from this schedule? It looks like Europe won't be getting this game at all?

And why is Animal Crossing being released in Europe at all? Everyone that was interested in this game will have had over two years to import this game from the US or Australia by the time it is released. I don't think it will sell well at all. If it had been released a bit earlier, then it could have sold well, but it's far too late.

I think it's time for Reggie to go over to Nintendo of Europe and kick some ass and take a few names.

« on: May 05, 2004, 01:36:07 PM »
Come on, this game has to be crap if EA is trying a stunt like this to try and sell it. I enjoyed Everything or Nothing, but won't buy  or even play this, even if it is going to be the best game since ET. The story is just screwing too much with the Bond-universe.

Also I don't understand how this game would work. The last boss in this game would have to be James Bond or Dr. No, so you would finish the game if you killed one of them. But that screws even more with the storyline of the franchise.

Nintendo have created a fund to take over other companies, I suggest they take over EA in order to stop them from doing this kind of thing again.

NOE actually does do this. There is an insert with all GameCube games that is placed on top of the manual. When you open a games' case the first thing you see when you look for the manual is a black "Consumer information and brecautions" booklet. There is a warning on the back of the box that tells you to read the booklet before you start playing the game. There is no epilepsy warning on the box, but seizures are clearly mentioned in the precations booklet.

TalkBack / RE: Silicon Knights Breaks with Nintendo
« on: April 13, 2004, 12:46:23 PM »
This comes as quite a shock, seeing as that Denis recently said that he wanted to make a mature Zelda, but that he couldn't talk about it yet.

Now the next bit of my post is filled with baseless speculation.

Could it be that Konami paid Silicon Knights a large amount of money to (temporarily) lose their second party status with Nintendo? Think about it, Konami and Silicon Knights made The Twin Snakes together. If Konami wanted to port Twin Snakes to the PS2 or X-Box, they would have to get permission from Nintendo to do that, since part of the gamecode belongs to Silicon Knights. If Silicon Knights was no longer a second party, this would no longer be an issue and the game would get a PS2/X-Box release.

What's the bets that Konami are going to announce that at E3?

I have just been watching the program and the first 40 minutes of it have been exclusively about Bacardi. Looking at the website again, it looks like it won't be on until next week.

Hmm, the BBC seems to have taken the Nintendo documetary off of the schedule. It has been replaced by a documentary about Bacardi, according to the online BBC 3 schedule. The dates on the Outrageous Fortunes website say the Bacardi and Disney documentaries are on at the same date and time as the Nintendo documentary is supposed to be. I'm still going to record it, just to see what's on.

The epilepsy warnings with Nintendo games in Europe date all the way back to the original Game Boy. I'll see if I can try to  record the program with my DVD-recorder.

The file index table of the filesystem used on the memory card is what uses up the 5 blocks. The size of this table is also what stops you from putting more than 128 saves on a single memory card, because the name of the save, the aniimated icon and the banner also have to be stored within these 5 blocks.

No, all those games have been officialy announced by Infinium Labs.
