It's no-shave November! Avatars must have facial hair.

I have to support this over Zelda out of laziness.

I'm fine with Brawl's pacing.  Just not its tripping.

I like it a lot more this way than if it were all gold.  This looks slick.

unless that AMD "leak" really was related to Nintendo afterall (which hardly seems possible since IBM is doing the CPU).

Which AMD leak?  'Cause AMD bought ATI, who made Nintendo's last two graphics chips, so both AMD and IBM are probably involved in Wii U.  Was the leak about CPU specs specifically?

Looks like they started increasing the major version number for minor updates in the middle of the year.  I don't get why they'd want to do that, but whatever.  Version 4 came out earlier this year, and I hated its interface, so I held off.

Like I'd use IE.  I'm using Firefox 3.6.23.  Do I have to finally make the jump to version 4 for this?

Tilt works, but it won't do a barrel roll for me.  Did they take it down already?

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Wii U

Clever, but kind of unwieldy.  The touch screen on the Wii U controller just makes this seem redundant, and I don't think multiplayer would work without a screen.  I really don't see the point.  At least it would be multi-touch.

I remember comparing the PS3 to the N64 close to the start of this gen, so it's kind of neat to see people validating my opinion near its end.  8)

Movies & TV / Re: Rate the last TV show you've seen

Holy hell, I just saw the infamous episode of Top Gear goes to America. It was funny through out, but WTF America, ****, you guys have issues. I know it's TV and they were taking the Mickey out of you at every opportunity, but America had to be the worse country they had visited up to that point. Mind you I haven't seen the Iraq episode which I hear could be worse.

Top Gear, as always, in Top Gear.

Which trip to America?  I think there have been three, but from your reaction I'm guessing you saw the one where they drove used cars through the Deep South and ended up in New Orleans?

I don't know if it was good, but watching the trailer reminded me of the training simulator from TIE Fighter, which was pretty fun.  I didn't buy it because I was hoping for a 3D version, so this is happy news.

Block Fort was in Mario Kart DS, and I don't think they have reused retro tracks yet. Their choice was between Big Donut and Double Deck... and I actually thought Double Deck was pretty neat. It may have been a little large for Mario Kart 64's 4-player cap, but it would be perfect for 8 or 12 players.

Oh well, on the plus side, Double Deck is pretty much guaranteed to be in Mario Kart Wii U.

Fully agreed.  I would love a chance to try that level again with 8 players.  I never even got to try it with more than 2.

In one of my races, I was hit from behind while in third place. The first two drivers then crossed the finish line while the shell was in its airborne stage. The blue shell then reversed course in mid-air and came back to hit me again.

Dead to me.

That actually gives me a tiny bit of hope (and makes me laugh).  The biggest problem with the flying blue shell is that it usually just helps someone in 2nd or 3rd place take the lead, and here's an example of the new version explicitly not doing that!  It was originally meant to be something to help someone in the back of the pack catch up by potentially hitting everyone else.  Putting it back on the ground might just save it.

If you're gonna include an N64 battle stage, why pick the worst one?

How about we combine Zelda and Halloween?  There's plenty of creepiness.  Redeads, stalfos, half the bosses, and of course the Elegy of Emptiness:

Alright what is lmgtfy?

I knew you'd ask that, but I left it abbreviated for my own personal lulz.  Sorry.  :)

Regarding the seal, I think the *SPCA organizations got their starts defending abused carriage horses.

Couldn't they just mirror all the enemies? Heck, I'd even take a mirrored world, similar to what they did with the Wii version of Twilight Princess. That would actually make for an interesting "second quest" of sorts that we've seen in a couple of Zelda games like Wind Waker.

Then it's an entire world of lefties, which makes no sense.  I hated that in TP.

I really don't think the enemy behavior would need to be changed except for whatever weighting was done based on which direction righties naturally swing more often, if there is any such thing.  That would be just one bit to flip, not anything drastic.

I liked Game B, you jerk.  I won't be buying this, though.  I'll hold out for Tetris on the Game Boy Virtual Console.

I don't see where the * next to "newly configured" leads, but I'm guessing this is the, "Now with 100% less Gamecube support!" edition.

Judging by the orientation of the Wii logo in the picture of the console, it must be.

Which of the three difficulty settings is equivalent to the original difficulty?  If they only added two higher difficulty settings, then most of the game will be unreachable for me.  I like the spectacle, but I just can't be bothered to practice at my entertainment enough to overcome some challenges.
