That's what I'm guessing too. However, I think it should be $150 to get a stranglehold on the market. Though preferably it should be $100 since no handheld is worth more than that.

I'm sticking with $199 even though I know there is a possibility that it could be no more than $250.
It's hard to gauge since we don't fully know everything the 3DS offers as we don't know whats up with the stylus, the bottom screen, the port on back, the internals and online connections.
But I still think $199 is Nintendo limit on mass market pricing regardless if I'm willing to pay $250 for something more capable than what they'll likely release.

Keyword is that they EXPECT Nintendo to charge that much, they are not saying Nintendo will do it. They are basically guessing. Besides, Nintendo like to keep the same number for pricing (meaning they would likely charge $200 in the US and 20,000 yen in Japan).

I still think it'll be $200, but I think they'd be wise to price it at $150 if they can afford to. Think of the marketing: "Our whole system is just $150; our competitors want you to spend that much just on one pair of glasses!"

Yeah 199.99 sweet spot for early adapters and a spring break prize for the spoiled brat(me).
It'll have some pre-loaded stuff like with the DSiManHands in it's release quarter and the next quarter it'll have a kick a$$ pack in for the same price for those of us that have more patience than Mr. Jones.

Earliest we'll get the date (for Japan) is two weeks from Tuesday. Nintendo doesn't do TGS, and in recent years they've tried to run a Kanye on it with their fall press summit.
