« on: April 05, 2005, 08:07:48 AM »
it doesnt matter.  I gave up on warp pipe a long time ago.  I played some mario kart online and It was so incredibly laggy.  Not to mention the fact that mario karts lan play was really sub-par (couldent even choose character).

And whens the last time warp pipe had an update?  over a year ago?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: wtf is happening to the DS????
« on: April 04, 2005, 12:13:00 PM »
i had a DS and returned it.. It wasent very fun.  I guess because there are no good games for it other then ports from other systems.  And a lunch list of 20 games in the next year didnt thrill me.  IMO nintendo should not have made the DS.  they should of waited and made the gameboy advanced 2 and forget the touchs creen thing and have it online at launch with plenty of games coming out.

PSP seems to be catering mroe to what people want.. and not what the company wants.

Oh well.. in the end I choose not the PSP or DS but nothing.  they only time im away from home and available to play games is in between classes at school.. and I got a laptop for that.  playing video games in a car/bus makes me car sick so I cant do anything there.  I think ill stick to my home consoles.

this leads me to belive an accessory which is simply an antenna with RCA plugs going to your TV could be released as a DS player and it would be crystal clear.

ok.. whats this differance in the gba movie player from the play yan..  I dont mind paying a bit more on the unit itself if it is of better quality.  if this gba movie player uses a differnt media tho I may not want it cause some flash media is more expensive then others.

Nintendo Gaming / Play-Yan vs other?
« on: January 07, 2005, 10:57:37 AM »
im looking for a media playing device which is at least 1GB big.  I basically want this so i can watch video clips or whatever and show them to people on the go.

does any1 know if the play-yan will work here on notrh americcan DS's and also, whats the differance between the play-yan and the competition?  I prefer SD card too since its like $70 for a 1GB card + i can use it with my digital camera which also takes SD cards.

Im looking for decent enough quality and the ability to fit at least 3 hours of watchable video content on the 1GB card.

so do i wait for this play-yan?  or to I buy some similar 3rd party brand.  I dont really care how much the unit itself costs as long as its less then $90

thanks

wow.. i was surprised that i actually saw 2 people in my hometown signup for this already.

I wont be signing up however since i would never do this sort of thing and seeing how 2 player multiplayer gaming does not interest me .  I wont be playing ds multiplayer ever unless warp pipe comes out with an online solution.

hats off to the linkup guys..  I just dont see it as something safe or fun to do.

i guess im the only one who wasent impressed.  I played the spiderman 2 on gamecube and thought it was good but much too short.  this seems like it will be even shorter

I have no plans to buy this game.. I bought mario 64 ds and like it since I loved the n64 version.

Nintendo Gaming / why did nintendo pull a sony on PURPOSE
« on: November 22, 2004, 08:46:19 AM »
Sony with the ps2 had huge demands for not enough shipment.. sony admited they messed up and should of put more.

now with the DS nintendo purpsoly limited all the DS.  the wal-mart i work at gets roughly 200 000 visitors on a sunday yet we only got 60 units.  I wondered why and then found out we wanted to order hundreds WAY back but nintendo restriced us.  i heard from friends who work at other stores that the same thing happened there.  Why did nintendo purposly undership units when retailers wanted more from them?  now thier all sold out in like a couple hours and no1 can get a DS.

is this a money making scheme to build more hype for the system?  cause it looks like it to me

well I played POP2 on xbox on a demo disk.. and i think its crap.  its nothing like the 1st one.  now they added like a hundred meele weapon combos like aaby or aaab or aba or something like that.  all confusing as hell.  they also added combos to jump off wals and attack while running on walls.  I think these are good.. but take away all those in combat combos.  also.. i did not like the HUD as much as in pop1.

and there was just something about the game that didnt make it feel like the first.  I will not be buying it.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: GameCube Controller Question
« on: November 05, 2004, 01:57:46 AM »
I own 5 1st party corded controlers (2 for me and 3 for my brothers gamecube) and all 5 of them dont rumble or rumble very low .  It appears nintendos 1st pary controllers lose thier rumble after as little as 1 month.  I never had a problem with ANY analog stick, and some of the controlers are from launch.  Disapointed in the loss of rumble, I bought 2 wavebirds since I figured that I dont have rumble anyway.  Wavebirds are awsome.  The only problem with wavebirds is that there is no rumble but since the official controlers dont really rumble anyway.. then who cares?  oh also RF does not go through everything as well.  Not only with my wavebirds..but wireless keyboard.  It doesent seem to pass through my bed frame which it has to if im sitting far back on my bed.  Kinda dumb but at least RF is still better then IR

Personally I would love to see revolution launch with a wireless controller (like wavebird) except with a built in on/off rumble switch.  3rd party xbox wireless controlers have the switch so it IS possible.  i would guess it would bring wavebirds 100 hours down to maybe 20 if it was on constant rumble?  An even better idea would be to have the new wavebirds with built in lithion ion (sp?) batteries and it comes with a little "base charger" that u just throw it on when your not in use.

It will allegedly not be ready in time for a 2002 release and, in fact, could slip into 2004.

LOL.. Perfect dark 0 wont even be out for xbox.. most likely xbox 2.  I agree that Rare is a slow company.. ive been a rare fan since back in the days.

I do like that microsoft bought out Rare tho.  Cause now i get to play conkers bad fur day online with 16 players.  Halo2 comes out on tuesday and it has a demo of the new conkers remake.  I cant wait to try it.

Also.. perfect dark 0 would be much better on the xbox with the online play and all.. but since RARE is a slow company.. and pd0 wont be out for like 3-4 more years.. I dont know which system is better to have it on cause we dont know which of the systems (revolution or xbox next) will have the better/ more advanced options for online play.

TalkBack / RE: Editorial: PlayStation or Xbox?
« on: October 27, 2004, 07:03:27 PM »
well i enjoy my gamecube and xbox and would love it if they merged/ where bought out.  I suppose when your a nintendo only fanboy u wont want m$ anywhere near nintendo.

Halo2 is gonna be way better then MP2.  WHY?  cause halo 2 will still be played online 16 players after 1 week.  MP2 will be played once through by me.. maybe 10 mins of multiplayer if i can convince my sister to play it and never again (well maybe 5 years later when i get into my classic games phases.  see as an older gamer i dont have friends who come over and play xbox or gamecube.  My friends are always working/busy and if they do get a free moment they want to go out and meet girls.. not play games.  I myself like games tho (well girls too heh).. so online play is a huge factor for me cause it keeps a game going

although I must admit.. mp1 single player was WAY better then halo1 SP and i have no doubt MP2 will have a better SP then halo2.  But unfortunetly.. Sp only lasts a short while and i dont like games that make u play through it again to unlock stuff.  So in the end mp1 had about 20 hours of gameplay total in it for me and halo 1 had over 2000... thus u can see which one is more worth the $.  I am still gonna buy both games however.

TalkBack / RE: Editorial: PlayStation or Xbox?
« on: October 26, 2004, 05:35:29 PM »
WEll in my experiance i always here the "PS2 or xbox" argument at my schoo, at work, on the internet, and by game developers choosing to make games for systems.  Nintendo dug themselves a grave this gen by announcing no online support.  although online support may or may not be profitable... this doesent mean its not a factor that help people decide which platform to buy a game on.  LEts take the Upcoming goldeneye.  Who is honestly even going to consider a purchase for this game on the gamecube if they also own a ps2 or xbox?  I mean the xbox and ps2 versions will have online multipleyer and more.

I have been a nintendo fan for life but the gamecube is like the last straw..  I was much more impressed with the N64s offerings..  Now with todays advanced features (onliune, hard drive voice etc) I just feel that my "n64 with better graphics" (aka gamecube) just doesent cut it.

I still own my GC and i wont sell it (i need it to play MP2 and zelda ) but thats the problem..  I (and thousands more) only bought a gamecube to play the marios zeldas and metroids..  we feel no need to play any other type of game on the GC...  i mean.. thats what my xbox with more features is for?

Personally I know alot of nintendo fanboy would hate me for this.. but I think Nintendo and M$ should merge or M$ buy out nintendo.   M$ showed interest i remember a while back of a buy out but of course nintendo would never sell.  Im hoping that nintendos "revolution" will fail horribly and put nintendo at so much a $ loss that they will be forced to sell to M$.  Then with nintendos great Everyone and 1st party support.. combined with M$ older gamer audiance, 3rd party games and use of lattest technology (specifically thier strong online stance) , it would be the greatest system ever and Would finally bring that Sony down to second (I dont like sony).  Of course something like this would take another 2 gens and sony is gonna win the next gen..  peoples opinions dont just change the next generation unless sony screwes up and chooses to ignore the lattest technology and switch to some sort of unwanted game format limiting game Features.  Sony is here to stay (as #1) unless some1 takes them down.. and its not gonna be nintendo or M$ alone unfortunetly...  PS3 will reign supreame next gen i can garuntee.  Of course lots will argue with me.. but Ps is just too powerful in the market

Well any way.. im looking forward to playing halo 2 online 16 players with my smart joy frag keyboard and mouse adaptar..  I suppose i can take a break from halo for a day or 2 to beat metroid Prime 2.. shelve it.. and get back to my halo 2.  I just wish nintendo would stop focusing on profits and focus on the fans.  I know thier a company and need profits... but I say just sacrafice a few $10s of millions of dollars profit (like xbox with live etc and sony did) to please the fans.  This actually helps in the long run.  I mean.. its just stupid small things nintendo does to make money that gets on my nerves like create GBA NES games for $20 each when u can clearly fit Every single NES game out on 1 damn cartridge.  Remember Mario all-stars for SNES?  Instead of porting that they port all the marios speratly to make more $.. err.  Another example is the GBA headphone adaptar u need for the GBA SP... Just more profit for big N and another way to get me angry.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Plantinum Controller no longer set for release?
« on: October 12, 2004, 04:40:05 AM »
well I own 2 wave birds.. and although they are great controllers.  I sometimes just plug my regular controler in for the rumble feature.  rumble really does add to the gaming experiance.

I hope the next nintendo system will have wavebirds with rumble feature optional.  Current 3rd part wireless controllers (for the xbox anyway) have a switch on them to turn rumble on and off.  although rumble will probably bring that 100 hours down to 20... some1 like me who has recharagble bateries would much rather have rumble.

im tired of them porting old games.  I think we should get a port containing FF 1-6 all on 1 cartridge.  We know it could all fit.  then SE could maybe release FF8-9 on the PSP.  this way games wouldent be so spread out and confusing.. and we could play them all.

BTW FF3/6 was the greatest..  I got lucky and found it used at Blockbuster for 9.99.  Ill never sell it

General Gaming / RE:Keyboard & mouse for PS2 & Xbox
« on: October 05, 2004, 04:39:24 AM »
your whole argument is obsurde.  There not discontinuing the controller... now u have a choice.  I was a master at goldeneye with the controller.. but that game had the biggest ammount of autoaim ever in this life time and u couldent jump.  in games like halo 2 theres MANY multi levels and people jump left and right.  those c buttons ould never work in that situation cause u need to be aiming up and down to often.

I love halo for my PC and am glad for this news since I cant stand halo on xbox cause of the controller.  ITs not like back in the day with goldeneye... so often in tight corners I have to concentrate so hard on my movement/aiming that I cant even think properly.  Also.. with the controller you are limited.  Try jumping, turning  90 degrees, aiming up, smacking a player and tossing a gernade all before u hit the ground.  In halo with the controller this is IMPOSSIBLE.. theres no arguing.  u cant physicaly push the face button while your thumb is on the right stick.  Now with KBAM we have eliminated this.  so many console players claim they are so good with the controller in FPS..  well if they are then those KBAM users wont matter then will they?
