I wish there were some way you could demo it (eternal optimist, I know).  I think there's so much more to it then 'color matching'.  Or at least this type of color (unit) matching seems unlike anything I've ever done before.

After reading some good things (here and elsewhere), I finally picked this game up after the shout out on NWR #190 (I think).  Wow--what took me so long?  I was worried that it would not have the pick-up and play simplicity of Puzzle Quest, and it doesn't.  But that is more than made up for by really good RPG elements and battles that are intellectually and creatively engaging.

I read somewhere that someone thought the champion elements were a waste of time and money, and I agree that they are money and space hogs--but who doesn't feel more powerful with a giant green dragon sitting in the middle of their army?

I'm very early in (and had to restart once I got the hang of what I was supposed to be doing), but I hope that the game keeps it up, because right now it is consistently awesome!

I'm not finished listening to the MTGcast, but it's more entertaining than I had feared. Wonder if it makes any sense if you've never played before.

I've never played. Still found it entertaining.  Made me curious, but despite everyone saying it was not that difficult to learn it seemed very confusing.

When you listen to all three of the other podcasts, though, the MTGcast is a must listen as a side-quest to the main adventure that fills in some character detail...

Was the panel well-attended?  Wish I could have gone up to see it live.

Hmmm...I think Prime 3 is good, but not as good as the original game, which has superior art direction. I think we can both agree that Echoes was not that great, though.

I know this is not the thread for this, but I had to comment--  Hated Echoes when I first played it.  But when I played it as part of the trilogy, I have to admit that I think I might have liked it best of all.  Don't know if it was the Wii controls, the fact that I had just come off Prime I, or muscle memory from my first time through, but I really bought what Retro was selling in Echoes the second time around.

I know why they did it, but I was sad to see Pikmin go from the list.  Especially with the WiiPlay controls, I thought the first game was outstanding.  Oh, Pikmin 3, wherefore art thou...?

I think Prime has to get my vote, although I will admit that I am secretly voting for the whole trilogy.
