FF Crystal Bearers -- Harmonica/WTF Trailer
« on: January 28, 2009, 02:19:33 AM »
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKeIm_gYmMk&fmt=22

This is the trailer included on the disc with Wii version of FFCC Echoes of Time.

Notes:
- Action-RPG gameplay
- Hot graphics
- Telekineses mechanic for battle/puzzles
- Lots of story and voice
- Sweet harmonica music
- Waggle QTE scenes (maybe like RE4?)

Whoa. Different than I expected. Reminds me a bit of FF12. I assume it's an action RPG. Didn't see too much of a connection the the previous Crystal Chronicles games.

Nice Trailer.I like the telekinesis mechanic. The only connection I saw with the GC game was races and Giant Bosses.

OMG it's epic.

About goddamn time they released something new about this.

Combat looks meh to the nth degree. What's with all the psychic powers and no weapon fighting?

Ah... JRPGs. Where you play a role, but you don't get to choose what it is.

Oh my god, it's like a action-RPG that actually uses the Wii-Mote proper...it's genius! No wonder this game is taking so long to make, they were really putting in effort to make a Wii-specific combat-system. I mean, the telekynisis is so integrated into the gameplay, you can flip levers and push buttons from a distance, now that's well though-out gameplaymechanic application close to a Shigsy-like level.

Do want! Desperately!

The tree scene is freaking sweet, with that Yuke phasing it in and out and hitting the person behind him.

There is a lot of stuff in this trailer, people keep mentioning things that I missed. This video needs a scene by scene analysis/commentary.

Wow...

The first part of the trailer rubbed me off the wrong way thanks to the music. But afterwards...EPIC.

The gameplay confuses me, though. It looks like an action RPG, but there's a lot of physics based combat. Looks very unique.

I'm playing Infinite Undiscovery right now and loving it.  Then this trailer is released.  Then the Final Fantasy 4 sequel rumor for the 360 comes out. Then a new FF 13 trailer is released.

I think I'd be happy if I only played square games for the rest of my life.

Awesome! The main character looks a bit more mature since last we saw him. So glad this is completely different than the Crystal Cronicles befor it.

Nice to see that not only does the game still live, but it looks like it's developing nicely.  Of course I wonder how far in development they are though?  I wonder if they might have been unsure with how they wanted to make the game for some time but now the team has a clear directions with what they want to do.  Kind of like with RE4, they kept changing what they wanted the game to be like before they finally came up with a clear direction.

This might explain why it's been so long since we last heard any info about the game.

I suggest you watch and listen over and over until you realize how awesome that music is.

We all know that including the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo with Zone of Enders was pretty criminal, but including this trailer to drive sales of the shoddy laggy Echoes of Time DS-to-Wii port takes the cake. vanilla chocolate arse cream cake

This is a new low, Skware.

I thought this was included in the soundtrack...

EDIT: Oh, the game also includes a soundtrack sampler  along with the trailer.

Don't know how this is bad considering other games have included trailers to upcoming titles. But if you are saying that the trailer should have been released online, you're right. But its better than nothing.

Pale the FF:IV rumor is a hoax here's the scoop from destructoid

A story is currently flying around the Interwebs concerning a potential release of Final Fantasy IV: The After on Xbox Live Arcade. Apparently, there was a page on Microsoft Japan's Xbox Web site which confirmed the release, including an image and everything. The gaming Blogocube picked naturally went nuts. However, a little digging by our resident tipsters suggests it is more than likely a trap.

We received a tip this morning about how Microsoft Japan allows you to create your own game page, claiming that anything and everything would be coming to the Xbox 360. Super Mario Bros., Metroid, God of War -- whatever you could think of, you could spoof an official listing on Microsoft's own Web site.

Sadly, however, neither the page that started this whole story nor the ability to create your own releases seem to exist anymore, so we can't tell what's up or down anymore. However, just be warned that the current stories regarding The After on XBLA reside on the most flimsy of ground.

Jonny is right. The music is awesome.

This looks really cool, but I'm kind of confused as to what the hell is going on. I'll put faith in this and eagerly anticipate its release sometime in the next ten years.

The gameplay in this trailer is so oddly alluring that I wouldn't even think it was a typical Final fantasy game, so when is it out? I want it.
