Can you opt out of the armor on Batman Arkham City?
I have yet to see an option to shut it off, but you can just not use it. You have to hit a button to activate it so you could easily ignore it.

Nintendo Gaming / Would I like Glory of Heracles?
« on: October 17, 2012, 11:29:31 PM »
I've had my eye on Glory of Heracles for quite a while and we have a copy at work that I can get for $3.75. The thing is, I really don't like RPG's that much. I really enjoy the Mario and Luigi and the Paper Mario games, I've played a lot of Pokemon back in the day, and I've even played the Sonic RPG, but that's about the extent of my RPG experience. My main complaints with RPG's are grinding and obscene amounts of enemy encounters. With grinding, I like to just be able to go through the game and fight bosses as I find them instead of feeling like I have to train just to play through the game; that being said, I just checked and it has newgame+, so a little grinding won't bother me assuming I keep my levels between playthroughs. With encounters, I don't mind a Pokemon level of random encounters, but I don't like being attacked every three steps. So, given my preferences on RPG's, do you guys think I would enjoy Glory of Heracles?

Nintendo Gaming / The stepchild of the Metroid franchise
« on: October 14, 2012, 06:23:58 PM »
As most know, the Metroid series took heavy inspiration from Ridley Scott's Alien franchise. Well, within the past year or two, there was a game made called Aliens Infestation, based off of the movies, which also took cues from the Metroid games. One of the guys (I believe Johnny, but I could be wrong) talked about it a good while back on the show. Metroid is my favorite videogame series, so I've had my eye on this game for a while. I saw that the GameStop I work at had a used copy so I picked it up during a buy two get one sale. If you enjoy Metroid, you
aboslutely need to play this game! I haven't beat it yet (I think I'm close), but its my understanding its fairly short. I've been waiting for Nintendo to make another side scrolling metrid since zero mission and this is definitely a good substitute! It has that style of, "Well, you can't go here yet, so come back when you have ___" gameplay and does a good job of it too! As a Metroid fan, I am thoroughly engrossed in this game! Granted, I find that multiple marine thing kind of shallow since they function more like extra lives than actual alternative characters, but that's easy to overlook. If you ever find a copy of this game, I recommend snagging it! It's only $15.00 at GameStop (I haven't checked prices anywhere else so I can't speak to any lower prices but I've always found good deals on amazon too).

Muzak. Like, seriously, I have a freaking addiction. Need proof? OK, I have 5556 song's on my iPod. Boom. Also, I have a website where I review said music, located here (shameless plug alert): reagansreviews.blogspot.com. (I would make that a link, but I'm writing this on an iPad, thus, I can't) I'm also really into movies and various TV shows. (Twin Peaks, Sherlock, Lost (especially)) And classic literature. And watching sports. The only sport I actually play is Tennis.
Hey, what is Muzak exactly? I've only heard of that recently?

General Chat / So what are your hobbies other than Videogames?
« on: September 25, 2012, 07:50:02 PM »
Not only do I love Videogames, but I love board games too. Not much for trading card games, but I do love Munchkin (I'm not good at deck building, but everybody uses the same deck in Munchkin, if you're unfamiliar). I read comics, primarily Green Lantern. I also read books and I'm currently rereading the Maze Runner trilogy and recommend it to anybody! I also collect Transformers and Nintendo and Coca Cola paraphernalia. I also love old TV shows such as Get Smart, Giligan's Island, Greatest American Hero, etc. I love brain teasers and hough not as fast as most, my personal best on a Rubik's Cube is 45 seconds.
So what about everybody else? What are your other hobbies?

I just read all the Green Lantern titles that are out at any given time! I am so stoked for the Rise of the Third Army story line! I definitely recommend it to anybody!

Just in case anybody else wants to cheat like me, antidark001 has some pretty decent guide videos on YouTube.

I'm having a hard time getting sucked into this game (no pun intended). I just feel like I don't make enough progress when I play for an hour or even two and I find myself gravitating towards other games. I really want to finish this game, though, so I'm going to pull up some YouTube guides later and see if I can't make a descent dent in this game.

I figured they might have done one of those. I've only been listening for a couple of months and haven't made it that far into the back log.

I just had a good idea for a future retroactive. How about one centered on hidden jems that, though very good games, most people likely missed out on, games like Zack and Wiki, The World Ends with You, A Boy and his Blob, etc?

Reader Reviews / Re: Rate The Last Game You Played

I just beat a Boy and his Blob on Wii. I LOVE this game and I give it an 8.5! It's a great puzzle platformer and the puzzles are easy enough to solve if you just pay attention and take a sec to think about it. The controls, however, are a little janky and, in my opinion at least, there are far too many of those situations where you're parachuting through a minefield (which can be troublesome with the controls). However, this is a great game that every puzzle game fan should have!!!

I've managed do make a little more progress in the game, but not much. I feel like this game would be a lot more accessable if the map system was a little better. I have a hard time keeping track of which world three door leads to which part of world three. I don't mind the open world thing so much, but one thing that just seems out of p.ace to me are the goals on the map. I don't see any point in their being a goal when it doesn't give you a piece of the mirror or open up a new world. Making it to a goal is a very hollow victory. And can some one please tell me how I "unlock" the maps? Some are detailed, but then others are zoomed way out and don't have any detail at all.

This will certainly be interesting. I started this game back when I first got it as an ambassador perk, but didn't finish. I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing or what was going on. I guess it has like a Metroidvania thing going on but with even less story and direction and a terrible map. I think I might need to start over to have any chance of finishing it.
Yeah, me too. I managed to find the frst boss but I haven't been able to find another main boss at all.
