Nintendo Gaming / Oracle of Ages/Season question
« on: June 01, 2013, 10:49:20 PM »
So this is my first time through these games and my question is this (spoiler ahead for anyone else on their first time through)

To get the Princess Zelda bit at the end of the game, do you have to start a game linked with the password or can you put it in on a "beaten" file and go to it.
Basically, I'm playing ages first. Once I beat it and get the password, do I need to put that password into seasons immediately before I play through it?
Yes I know there's no reason I shouldn't do that, but I'd kind of like to beat both games before doing a link, unavoidable pun not intended, cause that's just how I roll.

Also, am I just given that password post credits or do I seek it out?

Nintendo Gaming / Would I like Glory of Heracles?
« on: October 17, 2012, 11:29:31 PM »
I've had my eye on Glory of Heracles for quite a while and we have a copy at work that I can get for $3.75. The thing is, I really don't like RPG's that much. I really enjoy the Mario and Luigi and the Paper Mario games, I've played a lot of Pokemon back in the day, and I've even played the Sonic RPG, but that's about the extent of my RPG experience. My main complaints with RPG's are grinding and obscene amounts of enemy encounters. With grinding, I like to just be able to go through the game and fight bosses as I find them instead of feeling like I have to train just to play through the game; that being said, I just checked and it has newgame+, so a little grinding won't bother me assuming I keep my levels between playthroughs. With encounters, I don't mind a Pokemon level of random encounters, but I don't like being attacked every three steps. So, given my preferences on RPG's, do you guys think I would enjoy Glory of Heracles?

Nintendo Gaming / The stepchild of the Metroid franchise
« on: October 14, 2012, 06:23:58 PM »
As most know, the Metroid series took heavy inspiration from Ridley Scott's Alien franchise. Well, within the past year or two, there was a game made called Aliens Infestation, based off of the movies, which also took cues from the Metroid games. One of the guys (I believe Johnny, but I could be wrong) talked about it a good while back on the show. Metroid is my favorite videogame series, so I've had my eye on this game for a while. I saw that the GameStop I work at had a used copy so I picked it up during a buy two get one sale. If you enjoy Metroid, you
aboslutely need to play this game! I haven't beat it yet (I think I'm close), but its my understanding its fairly short. I've been waiting for Nintendo to make another side scrolling metrid since zero mission and this is definitely a good substitute! It has that style of, "Well, you can't go here yet, so come back when you have ___" gameplay and does a good job of it too! As a Metroid fan, I am thoroughly engrossed in this game! Granted, I find that multiple marine thing kind of shallow since they function more like extra lives than actual alternative characters, but that's easy to overlook. If you ever find a copy of this game, I recommend snagging it! It's only $15.00 at GameStop (I haven't checked prices anywhere else so I can't speak to any lower prices but I've always found good deals on amazon too).

General Chat / So what are your hobbies other than Videogames?
« on: September 25, 2012, 07:50:02 PM »
Not only do I love Videogames, but I love board games too. Not much for trading card games, but I do love Munchkin (I'm not good at deck building, but everybody uses the same deck in Munchkin, if you're unfamiliar). I read comics, primarily Green Lantern. I also read books and I'm currently rereading the Maze Runner trilogy and recommend it to anybody! I also collect Transformers and Nintendo and Coca Cola paraphernalia. I also love old TV shows such as Get Smart, Giligan's Island, Greatest American Hero, etc. I love brain teasers and hough not as fast as most, my personal best on a Rubik's Cube is 45 seconds.
So what about everybody else? What are your other hobbies?
