Once they confirmed co-op, I pre-ordered the game. I think a better and more accurate test would be if RE4:WE outsells Umbrella Chronicles. That basically says that people want Wii Edition gameplay more.

The rarest anything I have is probably Final Fantasy III on SNES with box, manual and everything. I got it 3 for $20 with Super Metroid and A Link to the Past from an old mom and pop video store that was closing down. I would've bought their FFII also, but I rented it before and it froze up in the middle of the game. I also have Chrono Trigger on SNES, but no box or anything.

Hmm, the latest update pales in comparison to last week's onslaught of awesome. Holding down the attack button to "automatically" to do consecutive attacks could potentially be cheaper than the C-stick Smash. I don't want to trash it before I try the game and the "each character will have variations" comment is comforting. However, I'm a bit apprehensive about the whole thing. I guess it depends on how long you hold down the attack button.

I hope tomorrow's update is better. We'll probably get a new trailer this week because of the E3 press conference.

It's my current "hobby" which hopefully won't go down in flames like other past interests in wrestling and anime, among other things.

On the bright side, I bought King of Dragons at a flea market yesterday for $7.

On the horribly awful other side, I continually get my ass kicked on ebay... because f*ck ebay. I just lost a Sega Genesis and 32X (with the boxes and 11 games) by $1 in the last 3 seconds.

It's an expensive past time, but for some reason, I can't keep myself from wanting more. There's something about owning old hardware, a piece of gaming history, that's so enticing. I really don't know what it is.

I just started seriously collecting and I've kicked myself for selling off some old rare titles (Ninja Gaiden Trilogy and Dracula X on SNES are at the very top of that list). What I want to start off with is every version (discounting color variations) of Nintendo and Sega consoles and handhelds, plus major peripherals like the Gameboy Player. I'm considering NeoGeo and 3DO, but I've decided that I don't care for Atari or anything pre-NES. I have a LONG ways to go.....

So, does anyone else collect? What are your collections like? I'm not asking to trade or buy or anything. I just thought I'd share my story and wondered if anyone wanted to share theirs.

To this day, though, no Zelda game is greater than ALttP in my eyes. Still all around the best Zelda game I've played.

Tha's the true sh*t.

I thought Ocarina of Time was overrated though I still greatly enjoyed the game. The plots of both OoT and TP were weak and generally uninspired (How can we fit 2 worlds in another game? Hmm...). Ocarina of Time's story was the worst between the 2, but less annoying to get through due to shorter cutscenes.

Twilight Princess was a better overall game. The later dungeons were almost boring and the lack of plot during that part of the game made me wonder why I was bothering. Also, Zant was a tool.

Then maybe those people should, I don't know, buy the OLD DS. Now that isn't any indication that Nintendo won't release the "DS BIG" with this sort of dumb logic in place and it isn't any indication that people won't buy it. It still bugs me that this sort of marketing works ever.

And what about older people who have trouble seeing? You can't tell them to buy new eyes. I think a larger screen model is actually a good strategy when you think about reaching new gamers, especially if a certain audience is telling you they want what you're selling. I don't know if this new model would replace Lite, but I don't think it needs to. The new model would cater to a specific audience, if anyone else wants to join in, that's really on them.

I'm perfectly happy with Lite. However, upcoming games like Ring of Fates and Contra IV really make me want another DS so I can play co-op with my brother.

Okay the PSP I can see but the DS? Why would they release a THIRD revision of it?

There's a rumor going around for new DS featuring larger screens, mainly for old people who have trouble seeing small text. Also, a lot of people with big hands complain about feeling cramped on the Lite. I heard it in person so I can't call BS on that complaint.

And consider that there were 4 different GBA models (including the SP with the brighter screens). It's not something Nintendo has been opposed to doing in the past.

I remember reading that, but I never found out if it was confirmed as real or not. At least we knew the 40 characters comment and Ridley/WW Link/Bowser Jr. thing were confirmed bogus.

Once they start revealing secret characters, I think I'll try to avoid Brawl news. Finding out 1 or 2 is fine by me, but I really do want to be surprised this time. I wouldn't mind if someone listed how to unlock all the characters/stages without revealing what was unlocked.

I put this on my wish list every year: Kid Icarus.

The only things I'm really banking on are new models of DS and PSP, both of which I'm interested in. Otherwise, I don't like to get my hopes up. There will be some cool announcements, I'm sure, but I'm just waiting for release dates (Galaxy and Brawl) so as long as they're still this year, I won't be disappointed.

I do expect Sony to have an ultra-boring press conference. It's not E3 without Sony's yearly powerpoint of graphs and numbers. However, it can't possibly be more embarrassing than last year. It should be better, just still boring.

MGS4 to 360.

9635
Eldin Bridge looks to be an awesome stage. It'll probably turn from day to night. Hyrule Castle in the background is a nice touch. I hope it rains occasionally.

It doesn't look like it's to scale. Not that I'd want a stage as expansive as Eldin Bridge was in Twilight Princess, but I was hoping for exact scaled stages.

9636
Sony has good hardware? I thought everyone and their mother was complaining about how Cell is so complicated to work on and how the GPU sucks compared to 360's.

If you're talking about Blu-Ray/HD-DVD, then bah, they both suck!

Is that an Ada Wong cosplayer, couchmonkey? If so, that, surprisingly, doesn't look as terrible as cosplay normally looks. Kudos to that person.

Anyway, as for sales, I'm assuming Nintendo is still pwning. Nothing new here, move along........

I don't know... I wouldn't pay $50 for that "game." Could be a nice collector's item though and I'm slowly turning into one of those   videogame collector types. Save me from Ebay........

Only people who don't know what the hell they're talking about consider the Prime games first person shooters. That's not even tongue-in-cheek either.

Online only suggests (but does not guarantee) better, if not infinite, replay value. That's why.

Nintendo fans want their Halo. The Prime series is in 1st person so its natural to put the two together. I'd rather Retro make their own original FPS so they're free to do what they want and no Metroid fan can say, "That's not Metroid!" I think an original IP is doable by Winter 2009. Long ways off, but I like what I've heard about Prime 3 and I wouldn't want the game to be pushed back any further just so they can add multiplayer.

I wouldn't have minded online multiplayer though I'd take a better overall Metroid game than Echoes over online multiplayer in Metroid any day.

What does it mean to her now that she has fused with her suit. Can she ever get it off? Is she now more of a biomechanical being like many of the monsters she has fought.

I always thought, based on the 100% completeion ending pictures, that she could take off her suit.

Anyway, I wasn't a fan of the Fusion suit though it wasn't a terrible design. I'd prefer if they gave Samus something new in the Fusion sequel.

Also, on a totally unrelated note, I wish the Prime games existed in an alternate universe. Nintendo and Retro's attempt to reconcile the storyline of the main series and the Prime games is utter failure.

9643
Ehh... they could've been better, like most of the rest of the cast.

I'd love to see a Belmont, but I think it's a long shot to see 2 selectable Konami characters in the game. I won't complain if I'm proven wrong though.

9644
This could potentially be very awesome. Tweaking characters may even things out to the point where a slow character like Bowser won't get annihilated by a faster character every time. Conversely, they could take formerly great characters and make them totally blow (like Kirby from original to Melee). It might be a lofty expectation, but my hope for the game is that every single character has a fair chance of winning each match.

Several characters in Melee had a lot of potential but were completely ruined by the balance issues. Take, for example, the Ice Climbers. If they weren't so pathetically weak, they'd be a hell of a lot more fun to play as. I like the Ice Climbers; it's just hard to use them seeing as they have basically one finisher, next to no range and they're not even that fast. I'll take tweaked characters any day.

Also, some Assist Trophy suggestions (apologies in advance for repeats): Mouser, Triclyde, Koopa Kids, Kamek, Stalfos, Wall Master, Goron, Starman Super, a Chozo, a Metroid, the X parasites.

And I know Castlevania probably won't be represented, but Medusa Heads would be pretty cool.

9645
Good call. I'm not taking any chances now. I actually just bought (back) my Gamecube. It sucks because I basically gave Gamecrazy $25 to watch my Gamecube for the last 7 months. Oh well, I've been thinking about collecting Nintendo hardware, but damn, Ebay is ridiculous. I just got outbid 3 separate times on the redesigned SNES.

Kairon's 1st point is actually a pretty fair argument. Ultimately though, I don't think it's really going to make a difference. It would've if there was no Wii remote, but there is and that's the deal breaker here.

I read a rumor that Nintendo will be announcing yet another DS model at E3 which is supposedly bigger than the Lite and with larger screens. This is apparently a response to all the old people who complained that they're having a hard time with Brain Age because they're so old and near-blind. Gotta keep tapping that non-gamer market, I guess.

I'd consider buying it though more so if Ring of Fates is awesome.

Even if additional non-nintendo characters don't make it into the game, I wonder how many/if any will make it as assist trophies =D

I wouldn't expect 3rd party characters to make it as assist trophies unless the series they're from is represented by a playable character. For example, no Tails or Knuckles assist trophies unless Sonic is selectable.

9649
Cool item... kind of like the Pokeballs except they can be anything from any game.

Sad that Samurai Goro isn't a selectable character... I can honestly see a lot of characters we all want to see playable being relegated to Assist Trophy status. At least we all know Pit made the cut.

I wonder how the Wario Chopper is even going to work as a move. Do you just drive into people?

And it kind of looks like the Wario Waft can be used as a recovery move.

Also, I hope they include his original yellow outfit, for nostalgia's sake.
