I kinda hope they break out of sitcom territory.  A 45 minute mystery episode.  A 45 minute action show like 24.  A Sci-Fi show...all those could be explored and continue the story.  I would love an X-Files type mystery with Vision and Scarlet Witch playing the roles of Molder and Scully. Vision is Scully.

That first episode sure was something, but I've had a long issue with watching things in black and white. You really have to buy into the recreation of the old sitcoms to appreciate the style and humor.
I hear they actually filmed the first episode infront of a live studio audience too.

That second episode was actually pretty funny. Also started peeling back layers on the onion that is this mystery of a show. You can tell they had fun doing the second episode, but I'm glad they are skipping out of the 50/60's era of TV and into the 70's/80's in the next episode. I am able to tune out the laugh track, as I've had to do on them old timey sitcoms back in the day, but I think they are purposely being used to distract you. Hopefully they have just as much fun, but start peeling back the layers of the onion a faster with each episode.

I think the 3rd episode is where things really start to move forward, or "fall apart" as they will likely start to expose what is actually going on.

My honest opinion of this so far is that for those that are not MCU starved, it will probably be best to binge all 3 episodes next week, or wait a few more weeks till there are more episodes out to watch before starting the show.
The first episode may not be capturing the general audience, and the 2nd episode while fun, does not push MCU connections hard enough for the casual viewers. So I'm really hoping that the 3rd episode is the hook that drops the veil or pulls back the curtain for the audience, and ropes us in for the week to week reveal of WandaVision.

Captain America Eyes Return To The MCU As Chris Evans Nears Deal To Reprise Role In Future Marvel Project
Quote
Still vague if deal as completely closed but insiders say its headed in that direction for Evans to return as Steve Rogers aka Captain America in at least one Marvel property with the door open for a second film. Sources add it’s unlikely to be a new Captain America installment and more likely to be like what Robert Downey Jr. did after Iron Man 3, appearing in films like Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

I'm sure it'll be an Old Man Cap appearance (honestly I'm tempted to go back to the Peggy funeral scene and see if there is an Old Man Cap somewhere in the background).

But what MCU actor (besides Holland and Ruffalo) hasn't played dumb and not spoiled a casting, appearance, or moment ahead of time by denying everything?

If a deal hasn’t been officially announced, I would expect Chris Evans to deny it. Jamie Foxx confirmed he was returning as Electro in Spider-Man: Home Page (and posted that fan art of the worst kept secret about the movie) then walked it back.

I’d be fine with Marvel leaving well enough alone and not bringing Steve Rogers back. I liked his exit in Endgame.

I'm pretty sure the whole show is a homage to the sitcoms across the era's
Ep1: 50's (I love Lucy)
Ep2: 60's (Bewitched/The Dick Van Dyke Show)
Ep3: 70's (Brady Bunch/Three's Company?)
Ep4: 80's (Family Ties/Roseanne?)
Ep5: 90's (Full House?)
Ep6: 2000's (Malcolm in the Middle/The Office?)

and each episode further shedding more and more layers of the Mystery Onion
and full on MCU action show for the last 3 episodes, all 45-60min long.

At least that's what I think is gonna go down.

First 2 episodes:  My review.  It is an interesting experiment.  It absolutely could not be done in movie and be this effective.  The style is brilliant but the jokes are hit and miss.  The jokes are classic but also has a tongue and cheek satirical nature to them, but it is kinda flat.

However, this show also feels like LOST to me in that the intrigue is there and a mystery is present.  I can't wait to uncover that.

I've watched both episodes a second time.
Extremely enjoyable and will serve very well to the week to week format.
I've posted some spoilers in the Spoiler thread (can a Mod rename it for WandaVision though?)

I still think the more casual should probably jump in this Friday when Ep3 drops and binge all 3, because I think that's when the veil gets dropped. But this is gonna be a fun ride and open up some interesting thing in the MCU. don't forget this show likely ties in indirectly with Loki and and straight into Doctor Strange: MoM. I'm hyped for more episodes.

I started the thread so I'll rename it (being careful to avoid the new spoilers since I've not watched it yet). Wife decided she's not as interested in it so I'm to watch the first 2-3 episodes and report back to her and we'll start over if I really think she'll dig it.

Watched the first two episodes of WandaVision. It’s fine, not spectacular or anything so far. I’m willing to see where it goes. I don’t have a lot of thoughts. It’s nice that Marvel is experimenting with a format Disney+ provides.

I’m disappointed in myself for looking up the cast list because I f-ing could not remember Kathryn Hahn’s name. There were a couple of extremely minor spoilers that I would have preferred seeing while watching the actual show. Whomp.

Its gimmicky but a fun kinda gimmicky for me. Got a lot more laughs out of it than I thought I would, but through my mother I've seen enough of these old-type shows that I can also appreciate all the little details they are mirroring from I Love Lucy and Dick Van Dyke. Will see of that appreciation continues in the later episodes or not.

So let's look at the upcoming MCU Schedule for 2021 -2023
who's ready for New MCU Content nearly every week in 2021 and 2022!!?

2021: 6 Shows, 4 Movies
Jan 15, 2021 - WandaVision
March 19, 2021 - Falcon and the Winter Soldier
May 7, 2021 - Black Widow
May 2021 - Loki
Summer 2021 - What If!? Part 1
July 9, 2021 - Shang Chi: The Legend of the Ten Rings
Fall 2021 - Hawkeye (set pics look like Dec 2021)
Nov 5, 2021 - Eternals
Late 2021 - Ms. Marvel
Dec 7, 2021 - Spider-Man: Far from Home

2022: 6 Shows, 4 Movies, 1 Holiday Special
March 25, 2022 - Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness
May 6, 2022 - Thor: Love and Thunder
July 8, 2022 - Black Panther 2
Nov 11, 2022 - Captain Marvel 2
Holiday 2022 - Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
TBA 2022 - She-Hulk
TBA 2022 - Moon Knight
TBA - Secret Invasion
TBA - Ironheart
TBA - Armor Wars
TBA - What If!? Part 2

2023 and beyond...
TBA 2023 - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3
TBA - Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania
TBA - Fantastic Four
TBA - Blade

Anyone care to speculate on how 2022 will be arranged?
Other shows/movies to be announced for 2023, assuming the continued 6 show, 4 movies lineup?

I'm gonna guess on 2022 playing out like this:
Early 2022 - She-Hulk
Spring 2022- Ironheart (could swap w/ Armor wars)
March 25, 2022 - Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness
Spring 2022 - Armor Wars (could swap with Ironheart)
May 6, 2022 - Thor: Love and Thunder
Summer 2022 - What If!? Part 2
July 8, 2022 - Black Panther 2
Fall 2022 - Secret Invasion
Winter 2022 - Moon Knight
Nov 11, 2022 - Captain Marvel 2
Holiday 2022 - Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

I believe Armor Wars being about Rhodey tracking down and taking back stolen Stark Armors/Tech will be connected somehow to Riri having her armor to backwards engineer. So just depending on how the story plays out, one could come before the other, but I think will be connected.

I also think Moon Knight will probably set up some element of Blade, so Moon Knight will come out late 2022 (just prior to Halloween?) and the Blade may follow in early (Feb?) 2023

as for 2023....
Feb 2023 - Blade
May 2023 - GotG v3
July 2023 - AatW
Nov 2023 - F4

no idea on the shows that will be announced... who knows where the MCU goes next.

While Black Widow is rumored to possibly be delayed again....

Apparently, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is moving to 2022!!?

Ohhh... Sony and Disney split again and Sony wants to do another Spider-Man movie with RDJ, so they get Warner Bros. on board out of spite to Disney and we get Spider-Man/Sherlock Holmes.  The crossover zero people asked for.

Another MCU show coming to D+

Maybe a peak at the more day to day life and adventures in Wakanda across the different tribes.
