I'm not sure if splash damage actually scores core hits, I just use the assault rifle or SMG (AR is better for that but I'll use the SMG if I have it in my hand at that point). If I'm too close to hit the underside I use the whip, gotta hit them before they stomp though.

I go by the name Dopefish.

I did play you last night. You got twice as much as everyone else. Though If I hadn't died twice I would have come close to you. I got second. I have the same name in Onslaught.

Everyone don't forget to put up your FCs in the FC forum for this game. Only 3 people have put their code up there at the moment.

The Sci-Fi cheese in this game oozes of awesomeness.
I had a blast playing last night though I had trouble finding people at first. After a while I was finding people left and right. I was in the top 100 for a while in ranked battles. But a couple of later games pushed me down a ways.

Don't forget Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2.
The Godfather and all three Lego games were also nice.

All made with multiplatform in mind (including PS2). Geometry Wars is far from a high tech game.

Why does it have to matter? Do you not think that Force Unleashed or Godfather or any other game needed to be made along side the other/lead SKUs?

Godfather came out much later -a good six months later. Most of the Wii versions were developed by different studios. Pi did Rock Band 2 for Harmonix. Chrome worked on Force Unleashed.
In fact, Force Unleashed is radically different from the HD version in design choices and menu layout compared to the others. Considering things like this, I don't see how making a game with multiplatform in mind makes that much of a big deal.

Whats your name on there? Did I play a match with you? I have the same name on there. I actually tried to join up with you but you were always in another game when I checked.

I try to shoot rockets through the legs and right below the 'elephants' and hope to get splash damage on them.

Now we have 4 codes. I'm hoping for more in the future.

I punched in your FC into Onslaught along with the others on there so if you are interested in playing I'll be online.

Nice review. I have been thinking about getting this for my little sister since she likes cooking. Now that I know you can fix the microphone issue I think its a done deal.

Isn't MS's limit still at around 150MB while demos can easily hit 2GB?

I'm pretty sure XBLA limits are over 300MB but I could be wrong. I'll check it real fast and get back to you. Either way thats way more than WW devs are gettin'.

EDIT:
It's 350MB

Sorry, I meant I am waiting for more coop impressions. Or more people on NWR to play coop with.

I'm trying to play co-op right now. Everyone seems to be asleep as I only got one person to join. Then again I am being a bit impatient. I know Flames of Chaos posted his FC. We're the only ones to post out codes on NWR.

I never did get to try it for more than a few times.
I want to eventually snag it on VC. Once I finish getting my kicks from Mega Man, Kirby's Adventure, Kid Icarus and Lost Levels (I limit myself to 4 VC NES games at a time due to size issues).

Also, I just noticed that you are a new member, Parallax. Let me be the first to say "Welcome to the forums"!  ;D

Why do even Australia and New Zealand get this before North America? That's not even fair!
...Not that I really care, just pointing out an injustice.
Get the **** out. You think you're entitled to electronics earlier because you're American?
Calm down dude, I was being facetious. Or at least I thought I was, as most people don't seem to appreciate my humour... :-\

The internet filters out around 70% of what we say thanks to the loss of our non-verbal cues.

Ages and Seasons were both really fun. I did prefer Seasons over Ages though. I don't remember why. It would be fun to do a double-dose RetroActive on the podcast where we played through both Oracle games.

Regarding handheld Zeldas, I missed Minish Cap for some strange reason.

@Parallax
What are the best aspects of Majora they drew upon for Hourglass?

Wish Artists: Elvis, Prince, Frank Zappa, Queensryche, Bad Brains, Buddy Holly, Hendrix on wii.

Elvis would be amazing. Do we know of any reasons that could keep it from either series? Legal issues or lost masters?

The lack of the Hendrix DLC on Wii is sad indeed. I'm hoping that they add it to the Wii version of GH5 to make up for it.

I actually wonder if Activision may try to adopt a similar model to Harmonix with heavy DLC emphasis. They mention a 'series reboot' is eminent with 5. That would bunk a lot of my arguments concerning DLC profit in other threads.

If they want more indie games, then they should raise the stupidly low size limit for games.

I'm willing to bet that once the 'Sacred Storage Solution' is implemented they will up the restriction. The same thing happened with the 360 as MS released larger HDDs.

*SHIVERS*
Ah, Arachnophobia. I remember watching that once. Might be good for a rent sometime.

My sister's husband had two Tarantulas several years back when they were dating. One was named Rosie. I forgot the other ones name. One day Rosie broke down her divider wall and ate the other Tarantula. *pulls feet out from under desk at the thought of spiders*

Based off of what I hear and the comments you guys have made, I think I'll give this a try tonight.

Anyone interested in some online play?

You're confusing it with the WiiMake REmake.

Zero still has a chance to come out, and Capcom should be excited about another... PORT.

A Zero Wiimake could be released only in effing GREENLAND and it'd still count as a Resident Evil release in Capcom's eyes.  Really, nothing greater will come out of them for the next 3 years, cuz Monster Hunter 3 is staying in Japan.  They have no idea how to market and analyze their own Wii products, and they're focused on figuring out how to spend money on HD development.

Really, stick with Sega.

:o What?!? Since when? I thought it was coming to the West.

I can see your point. Zelda direct sequels are a rare but typically pleasant occurrence.
Though my pet nostalgia monster tells me that Majora is better than Hourglass. ;)

I would dispute the master sword claim because the sword you do get in Hourglass is acquired and used in a similar way to the Master Sword archetype. You have to get three special/magical/sacred items to unlock the ultimate sword (name slips my mind).

I also wouldn't compare it to Link's Awakening. But that is nostalgia monster talking again as well being that Awakening is my favorite Zelda game ever. I just love that Ballad of the Wind Fish  :D

Where would you rate Hourglass? Do you like MM and PH equally or do you have a preferred one?

I glad to see you guys get to have something before or at the same time as us Americans.

It is ridiculously unfair; both your release imbalance and current pricing issues. Didn't Rock Band 1 come out after Rock Band 2 did everywhere else and cost a ridiculous amount more? I thought things like digital D/L's were supposed to make the different territories more balanced playing fields.

On the matter of Aussie gaming, do any of you follow Yahtzee? I know he is currently based in Australia and has done several events around the country from time to time.

Man, it has been a long time since we saw three VC games at once.  I'm curious about C64 (never even played one), but the games look really primitive for five bucks.  I'll wait for a very strong recommendation.

I watched the Onslaught video on Nintendo Channel, and I'm still not at all convinced that I want it.  Alien cyborg insects?  Um...

WiiWare World gave it a 9 out of 10. They thought it was really good.

I'm with you on the C64 games. I have wanted to try one for a long while but not knowing the good and the bad can be difficult. Especially with people saying $5 is a steep price for the games. I want to be careful which I invest in.

Conduit could work.

I'm more from the Pacific Northwest but I'd be willing to road trip it if you don't mind me showing up.

Stratos there is a thread in General Chat by Bill Aurion called Game Over:One final rant. It tells what happened to him. There are also lots of old posters that you might reconize. It is currently on page 2.

Good Lord that thread was epic. Read the whole thing. Mysticspike if haven't yet read that thread I recommend you read it as well. It was moving to say the least once I reached the end.
