Title: Pokemon Go to this Forum Thread.
Post by: pokepal148 on May 26, 2020, 06:45:17 PM
I finally got into this game now that I have a phone with the battery life to sustain it. I got a piplup early on during this sinnoh event with a 400+ CP and a 3 star rating. I'm trying to catch every other piplup I can find so I have the candy to fully evolve it.

Pokemon Go is still pretty fun, but I'm pretty unmotivated to play with everything going on.  I have to already have an excuse to leave the house and then decide to go drive somewhere with a good number of stops.  Niantic has been doing a god job of making the game more playable from home, however.

Anybody else playing this? I'd like to know how people feel about the Team Go Rocket mechanic.  I like it, but I do not get enough recovery items to make me want to play it.  My inventory is just constantly full of Pokeballs that I'm throwing away at this point.

Why am I swimming in Throh all of a sudden? I mean I'll take it but I thought it was supposed to be sinnoh week, not "sinnoh week plus this idiot who keeps turning up."

And now a dramatic recreation of pokepal's current situation in life.....

Yeah I used to play it on my old phone a few times but with my new phone I have been playing it a lot more.   Although I haven't really played it recently because well ya know... I think I started with charmander or bulbasaur as my starter.

I'm on a break from it as well. Just not the same when I am not walking around. I'll poke in when I walk the dog sometimes but being away from it has really "broken the spell" of the game's hold on me. I do have a nice shiny collection and several "100 IV" mons. So I'm sure I'll be back at some point (to at least port them over to the main games once that becomes a reality). I'd just rather play Switch while watching TV when sitting inside.

Also the devs are exercising worse and worse behaviors in terms of exploiting the playerbase and dragging out the release of "new" content. The distance changes they made are mostly QOL improvements that should not go away when quarantine ends as they were desperately needed in the base game experience.

I just went on a 3 hour rampage taking over a bunch of gyms for Team Instinct. That has been fun.

surprisingly, Team Mystic has very little presence in my usual stomping grounds. I usually have to go quite a ways to find one of their gyms.

My old neighborhood had a strong team Mystic presence, and the gym outside my apartment was always taken by one of them.  They would often take it back right after me.  But, as an adult, I would just go outside at night, take it, and have held it for long enough to collect the coins.

It sounds like both the distance changes and the changes to gifting are going to remain in place for now.

Now, if only they could fix my issue with recovery items. . .
