I loved the saga series, always have. I think you children just don't like open-ended difficult games that don't spoon feed you on where to go or what to do next. See, RPG's are about exploration more so then story. It's only with the new generations that think story is everything.

I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't understand the saga series, much like I do.

I personally loved FFVII and FFIX the best.  I love oddball humor and overly-goofy characters.

FFVIII was the worst in the series IMO, I disliked the draw system greatly.  Having to draw Cura every three turns just to either stockpile the spell or to use it ending up making even the smallest battles take forever and some of the longest boss battles.  I did like the fact that the higher your rankings (level) was the higher the enemies was as well.

FFX story was alright up until the end where it became utter b-rated trash but it did have the sphere chart which I liked.

FFX-2 had alot of mini-humor effects (if you brothered finding them) and reintroduced the class system which was alot of fun IMO.

Haven't played Star Ocean Till the end of time but for RPG's I think square still has what it takes.

As for action/driving games-- Drakengard, The Bouncer, and Driving Emotion Type-S maybe it's time for square to just call it a day. :0.

Oh,  Chrono Cross wasn't a bad game, just people expect the impossible and ended up a little disappointed.

Chrono Cross just tried to add to many characters (50ish or so) and it was short (20 hours or so).  Sure you can replay the game to unlock all the characters and endings but how many like replaying games?

I liked replaying Eternal Darkness and Viewtiful joe alot and countless 2D games and some 3D games but their namely nintendo games and some are 3rd party games, I loved replaying 2d RPGs but to me most 3D RPGs are just one trick ponies.

REPLAYING TALES OF SYMPHONIA WAS A BLAST!!!!!!!!!

skyfire: Only for computer RPGs. A potent GM will have a good story AND open ended stuff, open ended storytelling is hard to do with the computer as the GM.

I'm too busy to do some in depth research but this isn't the announced game is it?

Edit::
Annnnnd there was a Saga remake announced as well......for the PS2.....ugh
I guess I should just count my blessings that Microsoft hasn't bought them out yet.

I've spoken to a representative at Square, and they'd like to accept your offer.
