Now, is this different than Wizards' other card game, Magic: The Gathering? Is it an offshoot? Similar in play?
Taking a quick stroll to wizards.com reveals that the card names are at least similar.. as well as some of the basic elements of the cards themselves..

Anyone have enough experience to make a comparison?

Grr. When are they going to put Wind Waker on the Player's Choice line?
I used that for my free trial to that gamefly.com service (which I never used after).. Made it to the very end, but haven't had the opportunity to fully finish it, since I had to return it - I'm not going to spend $50 on another 30 minutes of gameplay... not even for Zelda, sorry.

Oh.... that must have slipped by lots of people, I don't remember seeing that on PGC or anywhere, for that matter.
It was still an opportune time to bring up GCLinux again and you blew it :-P

Worms rocks. Although I still would like to see Scorched3D make it to platforms.

Could lastability be kicked up a notch due to the Warp Pipe project, or do reviews stick to 'out of the box' experiences? I liked the N64 version and would have wanted to get Avalanche, but I don't need to spend $50 on a game with a 6.5 in Lastability.. I've got enough dusty game covers.

No, that's a good point. I missed the fact that they said 'registered' and not just 'purchased'. However, I'm sure that many people still registered.. it doesn't require a credit card just to register the copy, does it? Been a while since I had to mess with all that.

Of course, they won't admit the entire reason has to do with the homebrew GC scene.

Backdoors make games great. Developers take note.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Zelda Bonus Disc....?
« on: November 20, 2003, 03:20:49 AM »
Heh, I went out and got the Zelda cube bundle (gift for family for xxx-mas), and just used a hair dryer to remove the Bundle sticker from the front... then took the Zelda disc from the box... does that make me a bad person? :-D

Saves me from buying M&L.. I probably won't play it much, and besides, all my money is going to XXX-Mas .. I spent $600 just yesterday alone :'(

Slightly off-topic question.. where on the Nintendo website do you register your GCN and the games you've bought? I want to at least get a headstart and get the GCN registration in (not sure if I already have or not), but it's not part of the MyNintendo site that I can see.. *scratches his head* -- Nevermind, I found it.

Edit:  If others don't have the games yet and want to at least register the Cube, a good way to find it is just to go to the Mario Kart website and click the Registration link at the bottom.

Nintendo Gaming / MK:DD GC Bundle .... ???
« on: November 19, 2003, 03:33:23 AM »
Anyone hear any updated news on a MK Gamecube bundle (for the US)? I'm starting to do my XXX-Mas shopping, and it would really help to know whether or not I should just buy them seperately, or if I only need to wait another week or two. If they were going to announce one, do you think they would have by now?

Thanks!

I think if they would have brought the Q stateside, they would have seen a lot more revenue.

While most people (younger age, not to be cliche) would probably have stuck to the standard cube looks, I'm willing to bet there are a large number of gamers, mostly older, with their own choice of entertainment center schemes, that would have purchased the Q - and of course, didn't import because of the outrageous costs, or they just didn't know about it.

Of course, this is the case for a LOT of Japanese items, game-related and not. (And alternatively, a lot of Japanese items that just need to stay over there )
We're just as quirky as them, and while the Q wouldn't have made the most significant impact versus the standard Cube design... who, with their own free choice, WOULDN'T want a shiny, mirrored Q to play their cube games? That thing is just slick-looking, no matter how you slice it.
