I picked this up after your review.  Physically of course.  It was pretty good.  I went on a bender and played it over the weekend.  !/2 myst /2 eternal darkness.

Absolutely worth it IMHO.  It's a great Zelda-like that is worth playing.

I'm glad Adam is defending SPM.  Honestly its also my favorite Wii game.  I think it's one of the best Nintendo games ever.  Fusing platforming and the RPG style clicked with me.  I loved the story and character skits.  All of the worlds were unique and awesome.  I want a return to this more than the PM64 style.

Also my mom of all people was obsessed with the Kororinpa games.  I enjoyed the first but it game me vertigo.

Honestly I expect the 3DS to be manufactured until FY2020.  So I don't expect it to be discontinued until spring 2019.  Which is fine with me.  Hope it eventually hits GBA/PSP numbers.  I love it personally.  Its my favorite handheld and in my top 5 favorite platforms of all time.  I look forward to enjoying it for another year or two.  I'll miss 3D when its gone.

Didn't write an email but enjoying the memories.  I started listening to this show in late 09 because Jonny appeared on Kombo breaker podcast for Kombo which had been advanced media network. I think it's long sense defunct. I found out about nwr and how it was the continuation of planetgamecube which I used to read.  You became the first podcast I listened to regularly. Many podcast have come and gone since then, for me to listen to at work, but you guys are always there.

This has got to be the best episode of this show in a long time. Also if this rabbids abomination is happening hard girls isn't that far a stretch.

I stayed up all night playing this game the day it came out.  Loved it.  Never beat it on any of my play throughs.  I've been meaning to go back to it.  Also got me to read Lovecraft.  Honestly I think a remaster/remake would be better serving than a spiritual successor by the incompetent Dyack.  Idk I guess creative types aren't good at managing a business.

TalkBack / Re: Top 5 Metroid Games
« on: August 30, 2016, 08:22:09 AM »
Agree with the top 2 but totally disagree with the rest.

My opinion which will be unpopular.

1) Zero Mission
2) Prime
3) Hunters.  Yeah you heard me.  The multiplayer was great.  It was pretty mind blowing for a handheld and is still one of the best shooters on handheld.
4) Prime 2.  The single player was challenging in an enjoyable way and again I really enjoyed the multiplayer.  It was a nice break from halo 2 matches back in Xmas 2004.
5) The original.  It's obtuse as hell but simple it's design and concept in a fun way.

I guess I'm the only person that actually likes the metroid multiplayer experiments.

I also think Super Metroid is over rated.  But maybe that's cause I was a Genesis kid.

Game 5 is my GOTY so far and I don't see anything coming out that could top it.  That final boss fight was something incredibly special.

Honestly I played XG3 more than Weegee's Mansion, Pikmin or Rogue Leader at launch.  It was my favorite early cube game other than Smash.

I thought it was a pretty solid list other than the missing Mario kart Super Circuit.  That's my #1.  Used to hide our gbas and link cable under the desk in high school and play it.  Replayed it recently.  It holds up.  Some honorable mentions; Phantasy Star Collection, Boktai & Digimon Battle Spirit.

I got back into Sonic & Sega Racing Transformed on WiiU after this announcement.  It's amazing.  Got it for $15 used from GameStop earlier this years.

I'm genuinely excited for Mania.  The genesis Sonics were good.

Lol the pokemon clickbait satire.

Speaking of up selling.  My wife has never played pokemon and doesn't game much.  She wants Sun & Moon now.  But I did give her my launch 3DS when I got the N3DSXL.  So she may be an outlier since she doesn't have to buy a system.

I think Nintendojo get's touchy about that incident to this day.  Had no idea that guy turned his life around so well.

I really liked the PSP game way back when so I'll have to pick this up when I get a chance.

« on: November 18, 2015, 09:40:03 AM »
I'm really liking the Wii version.  I tried playing the WiiU version and found it terrible.  So I gave the Wii version a spin.  Beat the first 2 levels and other than the camera problems its pretty awesome.  Really feels like a shelved Dreamcast project ported to early Wii.  So it's pretty fun.  Wish it was wiimo plus though.  It's kinda hard to recommend paying $60 for a Wii game in 2015 but it's a decent swan song.  I'll have to try the WiiU version again too.  Even the the resolution is lower the brighter color pallet in the Wii version honestly makes it better. Just makes me miss the good old days of SEGA.

Greg I can't stress how happy it makes me to hear you again.

Gui I really liked Never Alone too.  I got it on PS4 when it came out to play with my fiancee.  Since co-op platformers are about all she can handle.  I just remember being angry because I was stuck as the little girl and she got to be the fox.  The game is really worthwhile if you have an afternoon free and somebody to play with.  I recommend it.

I'd be down for a ZombiU retroactive.  I loved that game.  I wish Nintendo had moneyhatted the sequel.

I played through this on PS4 with my SO.  It's really worth playing if you have a couch co-op buddy.
