All this talk about stereotypes made me want to make up this fun little thread.

If BnM agrees, we will list our previous experiences that prove how "black" we are one by one until someone admits defeat.

Salt goes on watermelon, sugar goes on grits (or cheese) and green beans are to be cooked with sausage and potatoes in a giant pot (almost as big as the gumbo pot, which is the biggest pot in the kitchen). I try to explain this to my white friends, but they just don't get it.

Salt on watermelon, sugar on grits? Salt goes on grits, along with eggs, bacon, and cheese. Salt and watermelon is a no-no.

Sometimes, people like bacon, ham, and onions with green beans, but potatoes aren't really commonplace where I'm from.

Yeah, my mother's side of the family is very southern. Mostly, they're from Alabama as best as I know, but I've still never had salt on a watermelon.

I have had sugarcane, though. I didn't care for it much alone, but then again, I'm not a fan of maple syrup, either.

I ate watermelon in the shower yesterday. It made cleaning my face much easier.

You usually only put salt on watermelon when it isn't that sweet. It adds some flavor.
I've never put sugar grits. And green beans cooked with sausage and potato is good.
Chicken is delicious, whether is been fried, baked or stewed and put over rice with lots of gravy.

But since we're going over sterotypes.....

I don't wear my pants around my knees, I don't wear t-shirts long enough to a dress, I've never robbed anybody(especially at gunpoint), I don't own a gun, I don't drink Schlitz Malt Liquor(

), I don't do drugs and I've never been to or have family members in jail.

I've walked into a parking lot, walking behind some white lady that is walking the same way, when she notices me, she clutches her purse tightly and then quickly hops into her '84 volvo hatchback and locks the door. I walk next to her car(cause thats where I parked) and unlocked my '99 Lexus got in and drove away. How black does that make me?
And before anyone ask, NO I don't not have fancy 20" rims on my car(yet), and don't plan on it anytime soon.

But this shouldn't be about who is blacker (You are so black, when you step outside during the day it instantly turn night), it should be about who utilized their "blackness" the best. But then again, I'm not entirely sure where you wanted to go with this thread.

So let the competition begin.

p.s. This is just another example of the black community working against one another in an attempt to boost ones self instead of working together so that we may all rise to the top [/self righteous preaching] j/k

I didn't forget BPT, I live BPT. Even when I try to be on time I show up late. I can get up early, get ready early and even leave early and still show up late. When it comes to things like appointment and work, BPT is a curse. But when it comes time to party, BPT is an aquired skill.

Anybody can show up late, but it takes a master of BPT to show up fashionably late. By fashionalby late, I mean not so late that you missed all the good stuff and not so early that you had to wait for everyone else to show up, but when you show up just in time. YOu know, right when that one song came on and everyones buzz just kicked in. Right when that one squad of hot girlz wanders into the party(aslo fashionably late), and that guy who went on the liquor run to pick up more drank shows back up.

Secondly, unless I were extremely extremely wealthy, there is no way I could be on the internet this much and still living in Sudan. I'm considered rich in Sudan and still, when I travel back to visit the family, I'm barely able to use the internet everyday. Hell, electricity isn't even that reliable! Nobody saves **** in refrigerators. And forget having a freezer.

Thank you, I never recalled claiming I was of ANY nationality on these boards, ever. I might of mentioned once or twice that I'm hispanic but never threw out names, especially claiming to be Sudanese.

For the record I am (the first) American born (child in my family), whose mother and father are both Ecuadorian (with some italian on my mothers side). No where near Sudan buddy.

i grew up in the south the first 9 years of my life, you really can't stereotype on food. Its stupid. that's like saying all asian people eat rice. Doesn't most everybody? My neighbors were black and yes they did make fried chicken all the time, but it was damned good and I ate it with them. Actually, you can't get it made that way anywhere here. God i would love some right now.

I've had many a small burn from burting bubbles of oil making fried chicken. Sometimes i'll undercook it and get mad but when it comes out right, its awesome.
