Get acquainted with the characters of Namco's huge GameCube RPG. We even have battle strategies and tips on using each one manually. Almost completely spoiler-free!

Lloyd Irving

Lloyd is arguably the main character of the game’s ensemble cast, although the plot hardly revolves around him. He is a young teenage boy just beginning to take on the responsibilities of a grown man. He always does what he thinks is the right thing, even if he’s not sure of the consequences. The other characters like to make fun of Lloyd’s naivety and poor study habits, but he is somewhat clever and occasionally surprises his more academic friends. Lloyd is determined to protect his friend Colette, no matter what.

Lloyd is the fastest physical attacker, and his special moves (most revolving around sword techniques) can score several successive hits, making him the undisputed combo master in Tales of Symphonia. Lloyd is the default lead character, both on the field and in battle, and thanks to his furious up-close style, he’s probably the most fun to control during fights. His weaknesses include a lack of long-range attacks and the inability to heal himself without items (or cooking).
