UPDATE: Not so much.
UPDATE: The MH name was used in a report by the Morgan Stanley analyst as shorthand for a potential 3DS successor, but is not an actual codename.

my kneejerk reaction to this news is to be disappointed because that greatly skews what I had in mind for NX.
I feel exactly the same.
I love that even articles that seem to have information on the NX only end up obscuring what the NX is or could be.
I really wish it was a Nintendo Phone. Similar to why Sony tried several years ago

I was going to buy that phone, but then I learned that there was literally only 5 games on it and nothing new was planned. If Nintendo made a phone with physical buttons their new handheld I'd scrap my Motorola and buy this MH.
The handheld is being code named MH, is that short for Monster Hunter?
If DS is any indicator I wonder what MH could mean?
Also if they are a new platform how does NX and MH relate. Are there any Japanese myths that contain characters with those initials?
MH = My Handheld? Or Mii Handheld?
This really throws all our pre-conceived notions about the NX out the window. That's kind of exciting and kind of scary! So we can assume then that March 2017 will see a new console come out. No "handheld version of the NX first" predictions anymore. So when does THIS come out? Though I always felt that the Wii U was in much greater need of a replacement before the 3DS so it makes sense to go with the NX first.
Update on Neogaf was that "NH" was just a term made up by the finance site for a theoretical "how would their next handheld do?" scenario.
Yeah, I'm guessing there might have been a typo and it's supposed to be "NH" for Nintendo Handheld. NX could be Nintendo Crossover or something just like the X in Street Fight X Tekken or other crossover games.

I'm curious what made so many people run with this piece of information when an analyst's projections on Nintendo are usually treated as just that.

Lack of hard news, no solid new rumors to discuss. Either way it was fun to throw a monkey wrench in the speculation for a few minutes. If Reggie is spotted eating at McDonald's I am sure that will spark rumors of a Nintendo McD's cross over promotion too.
Look, MH stands for Massive Hit.
Oh, then Nintendo should go with that instead of their current plans of Negative Xperience. Seems like a no brainer to me.
This has been entertaining to read after the fact.
