Pirates, can't live with 'em, can't get the name of their podcast right without 'em.

Oh lord, what have we done?

With Jonny on a special assignment to sell Magic Cards to drug-addled festival-goers, the good ship RFN is assailed by cutthroat brigands/old friends Karl and Stan, as well as a serious lack of coherence.

New business runs aground early. There was only enough time for Jon to talk about MGS4, before the waters overtook the ship. News and VC/WiiWare Monday was likewise riddled with scurvy, incoherence, and a general reckless desire to alienate everyone around us.

The mutiny is complete, with "Interim" Host James Jones losing all control, during a 20 minute "sign-off" portion of the show. Will our brave crew survive?

Talkback

I wanted to personally apologize for this episode being released so late.  I did the best I could to get it out in a timely manner.  As such, I spent all evening on it.  I started around 9 pm my time, and I'm finished as of now.

However, that doesn't really make up for the fact that I promised to aim for Thursday.  So for that, I'm sorry.

Any podcast with the tagline "Oh Lord, what have we done" is worth listening to in my book. Too bad I want to be in bed too soon to bother even starting tonight. Oh well, something to look forward to tomorrow.

It's not at all James's fault that this podcast is late.

What Jonny is saying is that I = fail.  I was trying to be polite to my roommate by not uploading during his WoW time, and uploaded early in the morning as I was leaving for work.  This turned out to be a bad idea.  So the failure for this to be on time is all mine!

So there!

^^^ = Further proof that WoW destroys lives.

ShyGuyJune 22, 2008

Let me guess, WoW time is north of 6 hours a day?

PryopizmStan Ferguson, Staff AlumnusJune 22, 2008

His WoW time is from 6pm to when he can no longer keep his eyes open.  On his days off it's much the same only it starts at 7am  ;)

Dan_FlyhightJune 22, 2008

Oh the Jonny bashing in this thing. My god that was all a hilarious episode. Well done. Very well done.

I could have done it Friday but I was just exhausted.

ShyGuyJune 22, 2008

Wow.... this was quite a podcast. By the way, I don't have ad-block installed and still I don't get the advertisements. I think it is because I am using the different forum theme.

What podcast is Karl on?

Hah, yeah.  It was hard to edit, because the 20 minute rap-up kept causing me to laugh till I hurt.

Just wanna say publicly that I heart Jonathan Metts.

ShyGuyJune 22, 2008

Has Jonny fired everyone involved yet? Or is he still tripping at this music festival?

Darth Windy hasn't fired any of us, I'm pretty sure Jonny retired away that power...I think.

these are reasons why i live alone... well that and no woman will have me.

If we wait until Saturday night can we get podcasts like that more often? I was laughing the whole time, I loved it. I'd probably want a normal, semi-serious one most of the time, but I hope this isn't the last time we get one like this.

Dang, and I thought I would avoid the crew's harsh tongue.

At the end I seriously considering bringing in the Dave Chappelle "Wrap It Up" box.

Oh man this episode was EPIC. Hilarious stuff, this needs to happen again.

MarioIsFrenchJune 23, 2008

AWESOME episode... it's like episode 100 all over again... it's sort of feels like a special episode or something... How will you respond to this, Jonnyboy117? because they responded to your N64 special with the Lords of Thunder podcast...

AVJune 23, 2008

Ha ha great episode. laughed allot and you guys did cover the issues (just barely) so its all good.

Well, I'm sure GP could've been even more unkind than that...

To be fair, Karl was far less kind to her.

PryopizmStan Ferguson, Staff AlumnusJune 23, 2008

I'm really glad so many of you enjoyed the show.  We had more fun than any human being should making it.  It really was, I felt, in the spirit of Nintendo Pirate Radio.

ShyGuyJune 24, 2008

Crimm, Make sure Stan and Karl visit every once in a while, k?

Hey Crimm, I just blocked the ads, and you know why? They were taking three times as long to load as the actual content. I don't mind looking at ads too much, but I'll be damned if I'm going to sit around watching them load.

Dan_FlyhightJune 24, 2008

Might I just say, Stan, Dude! You have the greatest most contagious laugh I have EVER heard. And it totally doesn't match your voice to be honest, in fact I thought it was John the first time I heard it, but to know that its you...I cry in laughter every time you crack up. Thank you sir for making this podcast THAT much funnier.

This wonderful podcast was the first, to my knowledge, NWR podcast listened to on the set of Transformers 2

CalibanJune 24, 2008

Eh, I almost agree with GP on this one, I thoroughly enjoy the jokes, but that constant barrage and lack of content got old after the first 45 minutes.  Still I understand why it happened blah blah. Oh and thanks for trying to get it out on thursday when you didn't have to James.

DAaaMan64June 27, 2008

104? yes/no/maybe?  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

GoldenPhoenixJune 27, 2008

Crimm was offended by us so now he isn't going to release the podcast today.

Ok maybe I added some extra stuff, but the spirt may be true

Maybe I should get all sexual like I did a couple of weeks ago to get the podcast out.

No, no, I've been putting it off because I'm tired every night after work.  I'm rested up today so I'll get it done.

CalibanJune 27, 2008

You're a good slave, Crimm. Here have a peanut.

Just for now, as soon as RFN 104 comes out hit the stop button and delete the 1upyours MP3. Then spit on your iPod.

Hey. Instead, why not check out last week's Radio Trivia. It was a pretty good episode.....

Uh...typ... PixelDuJour is dead.  Hmm...not good.

PaleMike Gamin, Contributing EditorJune 30, 2008

I could just FEEL Greg getting more and more frustrated as this episode went on...

/sigh...

MoRZFebruary 01, 2012

Slow days today, might go and gives this another listen. It has been too long already. Hoping for 303.

ShyGuyFebruary 01, 2012

Hahahaha! It comes back to haunt us all...

shinyray01May 27, 2012

ah so this is the infamous episode they were always referring too :cool;

LithiumMay 27, 2012

This one's probably my favorite episode, i don't think I've ever laughed as hard as i did listening to RFN before.
James should host 303

This is the only episode I've listened to multiple times. It's a complete trainwreck, in the best possible way.

06/22/08 never forget.

For extra fun, after you've listened to this one, Listen to it again but with Addagio for Strings on loop in the background of this after refreshing yourself on this.

In honor of the upcoming release of mgs: ground zeros, the sequel to the one game that was actually given any form of legitimate discussion I feel like bumping the thread.
