We cut out a whole segment of the show, and it still managed to be the longest (and best?) one yet.

Why won't they let me play my expensive digital card game in peace?

(Note: Jon Lindemann's first minute of audio was lost, but you'll hear him soon enough.)

You should know the crew by now: James, Greg, Jon, and Jonny can't shut the hell up about video games, and that's the way you like it. The chemistry and banter reach a new level on this episode. We talked for nearly two hours, but it felt like just a few minutes because we were having so much fun.

James busts out the Power Glove, Greg gushes over Geometry Wars, Lindy muses upon digital novels, and Jonny reveals his secret gaming addiction to stunned silence. We had so much fun talking about games that we just left out a news segment, choosing instead to spend longer on reader mail and a look at the forums. At a hefty 1:51, this show has more than enough hilarity to get you through the week.

Ooooooh. Can't wait.

Uhh... where'd the article go?

SvevanEvan Burchfield, Staff AlumnusJanuary 30, 2008

Check your PMs Crimm.

Article is back, false alarm. Jon forgot to hit "Record" until after his intro, but the rest of his audio is in there.

Podcasts are hard.

The awkward discussion while Jonny was gone was quite hilarious. Has he listened to that yet? =P

Not yet, but they haven't heard what I did during that time, either. I think James put it at the very end, after the closing music.

PaleMike Gamin, Contributing EditorJanuary 31, 2008

Heh well I'm still listening to it, so I'll look forward to the end face-icon-small-smile.gif

Oh yeah, we were pretty amused with ourselves.

Just wait until the non-staffers get ahold of this!

I triumph for now, but proceed in the knowledge that (if I take part in enough episodes) it'll assuredly happen to me one day.

However, when it does, it won't be about Magic the Gathering ...god willing.

If it is I'm chopping it up for a month's worth of stingers.

Man, half way through and this is the best podcast since the days of Stan!

Welcome to the Jonnyboy drunkcast. The Garnett parallels continue

Been listening to these as they come. I left the show in good hands. face-icon-small-smile.gif

And yeah, folks, I haven't forgotten my promise of a final appearance. I told Jonny and Co. to expect a little something for Episode 86.

Oh, and yeah, I know I'm not using my regular username. To make a long story short, I sorta accidentally forgot my password, emptied my cache, and the email I used when I signed up to the forums originally is inactive. Yeah yeah yeah, I'm totally stupid for not keeping these things updated, whatever.

Anyway, good on yeh bunch, again.

the old cast was epic, but this cast seems to be heading in that direction as well.

brilliant episode.

I downloaded the MP3 version of the podcast and there is this horrible background hum. Occasionally it drops off for a second only to come back. Its keeping me from listening to the whole thing. My ears are bleeding.

I'll try another format.

Edit: Well, the AAC version has it too. There needs to be a transcription.

Well now you're just hurting my feelings.

I tried to remove the hum this week; last week when I tired to remove it automatically it would kill Jonny's audio track. For whatever reason it wasn't an issue this time, and came out smoothly. It went away in spots on 84 because I was removing manually muting the tracks where it came from when it was an issue hearing the people talking. If you pay attention you'll note I muted it a lot when Greg talked. For whatever reason it masked his voice really well.

Also of note: Episode 85 tonight or early tomorrow.

Any chance you can put in the chapter breaks and "album" art that the show had when Karl was editing it? I really dug those.

Also, I didn't really notice a hum.

Yeah, he had the advantage of doing it on a Mac. It took me a while to find a tool to do that with. It's funny you asked because I was going to re-debut them this week.

Greg Leahy, do not undersell yourself. Your name DESERVES to be recognized and glorified in green text. DESERVES. And don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Also, you haven't beaten Life-Signs yet Lindeman? For shame. I burned through that baby! LIKE... BADDDDDD!!! (Sprung + ER = perked-up)

rock on - nice job man.
