Woo!  I figured out Sonic 2 before you gave the answer.  I played that game a ton back in the day - I had a Genesis long before I had a SNES.

You really think those are the only games worth playing on the console?  Man, we need to do some more Genesis RetroActives with TYP on RFN.  Comix Zone, Shining Force, etc.  Lots of great Genesis titles.

As a kid who grew up with a Genesis and craved a SNES, I can say that there are a lot of gems on Genesis. I think the Genesis/SNES era is unmatched with game quality.

Do I need to throw down the Acme All-Stars a.k.a. the-greatest-sports-game-ever-made gauntlet?

Just finished up... Great Show TYP, i was glad i could identify two of the five before the question

Sonic 2 gave me flashbacks to the old synth keyboard my mom has. Very similar sound.

To be fair, I like Gunstar Heroes as well. For some reason I've never been interested in Shining Force. Vectorman die a bland death.

Thanks for another epi. It was good stuff

I have to agree with you there. Shining Force and Vectorman aren't awful, but they're not really anything special

Wow, I'm getting a lot of 'close but not quite there' shots.

I thought DKC3 was DKC2

And I thought Sonic 2 was Sonic 1

I guessed Ys I & II right. I got it on VC and got a good kick on it. I'm still stuck on the last dungeon. I don't remember where I was going and that makes me not want to pick it back up again.

Hey! I like Vectorman! I enjoy Shining Force, but I needed to adjust to the different play style from Fire Emblem.

Why are we spoilering games that have nothing to do with the episode? I'm following suit until I know why.

I nominated Comix Zone for RetroActive because it was one of the titles I was always curious of that my Genesis playing friends owned. I'm going to nab in on VC at some point in the future.

Drew, you should go second my nomination of it and give some more reasons for Comix Zone to be on the Genesis poll.

Sonic 2 is my all time favorite game soundtrack (unless you count Brawl), to the point that Casino Night Zone is my phone ringtone. I feel bad for getting so far behind on Radio Trivia and that it took so long for me to get around to hearing my request played. Keep up the good work, TYP!

I wanted to mention that I loved recording this podcast (as in Radio Trivia in general). I appreciate TYP having me on and I hope that we can do it again soon!
