Tiny little cars full of die-cast deviousness.

Room Zoom is about racing cars through actual rooms in a house. That may not sound too spiffy at first, yet when you consider that the room might be filled with nefarious obstacles that befit a dirty house, like ketchup slicks and power tools, the propensity for frantic racing reveals itself. Jaleco promises one to four players but also seems to have support for one to six players “online.” When you consider the online scene for the GameCube, it wouldn’t be wise to hold your breath for online support.

There are eight environments to choose from, quite possibly the “rooms” in which you “zoom.” Given the theme of the game, expect these environments to be various rooms that are a part of your typical urban domicile. The environments promise to be big and unrestrictive, which could possibly make for neat shortcuts.

Room Zoom definitely looks to have an arcade racing flair to it. There will be a few weapons to bring down your opponents with, as well as some mini-games like soccer, and other wild ideas. Room Zoom will also sport a cadre of unlockable features that are yours to earn.

Room Zoom will hit the Cube this year, with a budget price tag of $19.99.
