A major glitch in Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars could cause you to restart your game. Find out how to avoid it inside.
The other night, fellow staffer Ben Kosmina rang me up to talk about Broken Sword. He mentioned some bug in the game that could get you stuck, but had to go before I figured out exactly what he was talking about. He left the link above, so I checked it out and found this:
"Whatever you do, don't go to Spain until you have been to Syria.
If you do you'll find yourself stuck and may need to restart or load a saved game..."
The way it was worded, I thought that I was in the clear since I had been to Spain and back to France without any problems. I picked up my game and soon found myself at a dead end.
I went back to the site and checked out the walkthrough to see what I should do next, but I had already done it. I tried again. No effect. I was stuck and had to start over. :(
So if you're playing Broken Sword, take note and spread the word. This is no minor glitch, and it's pretty far into the game as well. I'll have a full review up when I finally finish it, but you can read my first impressions here.
