Crave Entertainment Hits the Target with Pinball Hall of Fame – The Williams® Collection

Simulator for PSP® system, PlayStation®2 system and WiiTM faithfully recreates classic Williams tables

Newport Beach, CA - Mar 27, 2007 Crave Entertainment, a leading publisher of console videogames, today announced Pinball Hall of Fame – The Williams Collection, the follow-up to the popular Pinball Hall of Fame – The Gottlieb Collection, for PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system and WiiTM.

Pinball Hall of Fame – The Williams Collection faithfully recreates eight of the most memorable tables from the golden age of pinball in stunning, photorealistic 3D. Working closely with Williams to ensure authenticity of each of the games, the collection is highlighted by some of the most popular and innovative Williams pinball tables, including GorgarTM, the first-ever talking pinball machine, Black Knight®, which introduced “Magna-SaveTM" and Bonus Ball, and Space ShuttleTM, which took the pinball industry by storm in 1984. Every table has been meticulously recreated to bring players the visuals, sound effects and gameplay that made these games legendary successes. Pinball Hall of Fame – The Williams Collection harkens back to the arcades of the 1980s.

Players begin Pinball Hall of Fame – The Williams Collection with access to four pinball tables, and the remaining four tables are unlocked as the game progresses. Players can spend as little as two minutes on a quick pinball challenge, or delve deeper into the game, gaining rewards in a token-based system as they unlock each of the pinball tables. Single-player Arcade and Challenge modes provide hours of solo entertainment, and a Multiplayer mode lets players face each other head-on.

Pinball Hall of Fame – The Williams Collection will be available for PSP® system, PlayStation®2 system and WiiTM this year. Crave Entertainment is a publisher on this product for FarSight Studios, a licensee of Williams Electronic Games, Inc.

I'm not a huge pinball geek, but Black Knight is one of the few pinball machines I remember by name, and I absolutely loved it. Maybe they'll even have you make a pulling motion with the Wii remote to get things started. And how about tilting the table a bit? I know goodies like this are unlikely, but it would be sweet.

Blood, I really hope they implement what you suggested. That would make for the ultimate pinball simulation if they utilized the Wii. I wish I had a real pinball machine but they are way too expensive and I hear they are hard to fix if they break down. When I took a trip to the ocean with a friend, we played this neat pinball game that used 3D hologram graphics (I think it was Revenge from Mars or something) which was a blast to play as well. It is kind of sad though to see the Pinball machine die out, it is still alot of fun.

Is this a sequel to the EU/AU only "Gottlieb Pinball Classics" (also for Wii), or just the North American name of GPC?

Gottlieb and Williams are different companies, and thus, made different pinball machines. So yes, this is a different game.

From what I can tell, the Wii version of the Gottlieb game only came out in EU/AU, but it was released on GameCube and other systems here in the states.

The same developer is making this though, so it's likely it'll have the same controls as the Wii version of Gottlieb Pinball Classics. Which are pretty excellent. You use both the Wiimote and the Nunchuck for the flippers, and shaking either one nudged the table depending on which one you shook. The plunger is just controlled by the Nunchuck's joystick though.

I'm a huge pinball nerd, so this is great news. <3

Oh cool. That's good to know. I honestly had no idea about the Wii version of the other game until I started poking around.
